  1. There are comments in the Hey Kids thread.
  2. Don't think I have this but as I'm listening to it, yes, it's must have.
  3. Listening to it now.
  4. So you're happy, right?
  5. Does that mean anything that was so poor in quality should be released just because "we" want to hear it? I'd say no.
  6. Probably asking price or lower. I probably should have bought some of the Nat King Cole but figured I’d spent enough.
  7. Lipi, that’s great! And thanks for the recommendations. I’m looking into those.
  8. Occupied, on Netflix. Russians taking over a country (Norway). Just fiction. Right?
  9. New York City had a large German section on the East Side between 79th to 86th and bordered by 2nd Avenue to Madison Avenue. And not just German food but Czech food too. I remember eating at a very good Czech restaurant in 1981 or 82 and having some delicious duck. I believe very few of these places are left. In their web site, http://www.heidelberg-nyc.com/#about, the Heidelberg Restaurant, which is still located in the heart of old Germantown, says that "Of the dozens of German restaurants that once adorned the streets of Yorkville in Manhattan's Upper East Side, the Heidelberg Restaurant is all that remains. Heidelberg has made it its mission to honor these establishments, and to preserve an important piece of cultural history."
  10. This one looks pretty interesting.
  11. I ordered it today but it’s not scheduled to arrive until early April.
  12. Earlier today....and yesterday, disc IV.
  13. I think they had more books but wouldn’t swear to it. Why don’t you email Scott. If you’re not in the area, I can call him on Saturday. What are you looking for?
  14. The people listed above as sidemen were both sidemen and leaders so as someone noted they were never true sidemen. They were all part of the BN Family as someone noted or just the talent or bench that Alfred could draw upon for a date.
  15. Dying to see it but it’s not out here in the sticks
  16. Just ordered it.
  17. I picked up a CD from the set yesterday’s Open House and am loving it! I know this is a stretch since it’s an extremely old Mosaic but if anyone has one (the CD version) they’d like to part with or share, please let me know. I purchased the book so I’m covered in that area. Thanks.
  18. Thanks. I should have taken a few photos. Brain fart! I was looking for the new Wilson set since you could see everything and walk anywhere but didn't see it. Should have asked Scott. I will pick it up at Jazz Bash in late June.
  19. Simon and Garfunkel The Sounds Of Silence.
  20. Hmm, good idea. I will take a look tonight.
  21. The ones in Munich that I ate at in 2016 were doing just fine.
  22. I went to the open house today. I hadn't been to these offices before but they are smaller than the prior ones. I'm glad I went as they had a lot of different things. They had a few partial sets and a few out of print sets; I nabbed the Quincy Jones set. In addition, they had some single cds from previously issued sets, I purchased a CD (the only ones available) from the early Bechet set, a Teagarden CD and a cd from the Akiyoshi and Tabackin Select. You could also purchase the book from their previously issued sets; I wound up purchasing eight of them, including the book from the Tina Brooks and Basie Roulette Studio sets. They have an amazing inventory of the older booklets. For example, they must have had six or seven copies of the Basie one so I picked out the best one. In my opinion, that was the best thing about going. I'm surprised they don't put them on eBay or sell them off the web site. They had Japanese CDs of Blue Notes for only $12 per but I passed on them. Figured I'd spent enough. They were also selling a variety of CDs from different companies. There was also some "best of" recordings of Blue Notes issued by a Japanese company in a long box. As I had most of them I passed. They also had many, many slicks; I picked up the Powell one. They were also selling prints and if you wanted ones on the wall, they would sell them too. There were also non-Mosaic LPs and books (including Blue Note postcards; probably should purchased that but didn't. Of course, you could also buy current Mosaics and I wound up purchasing the Basie Lester Young Studio. I wouldn't say it was overly crowded but the people who were there weren't skimping on money
  23. It is Scott. I saw him today and he confirmed it.
