    IPod Replacement

One of players I’m looking at, the Sony Walkman, is actually cheaper than a iPod Touch.
  2. He was popular wherever he was. Just a great all around player.
  3. The Glider As if Rusty passing was not enough, Ed Charles, the Glider, passed away on March 15. He only played for them for two years but was an important part of the 69 Championship Team. The Glider will never be forgotten by Mets fans. As the following article notes: “Charles was known to write and recite poetry, and as part of the Mets’ celebration in Bryant Park in Manhattan, he read a prayer-poem he had written while stuck in the minors in 1961. Part of it went, ‘Grateful to You I’ll always be/ For exploiting my talents for the world to see.’” Ed Charles Obituary
  4. New York Times Obituary.
  5. Did you hear Sterling's HR call for Stanton? Not very good. He needs to rework it. Supposedly he was working on it for awhile. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/26/sports/baseball/yankees-john-sterling-giancarlo-stanton.html
  6. Ahh, Buddy what a sound!
  7. Since Dan thinks there were shifts before I was born, I just want to let him know I saw the shift used against Cy
  8. I don’t agree but don’t want to prolong the issue either. However, Jim noted a situation that’s perfectly legal but weird so who’s to say that’s wrong. Another that would be weird but legal: why not place a fielder right behind the pitcher or slightly to his right or left to throw off the batter.
  9. I understand that there is no such rule but I firmly believe they’re stretching the symmetry of the game, the essence, whatever you’d like to call it. However, I also understand that this bending the boundaries (apologies for all these cliches) will continue until checked.
  10. It’s altering the essence of the game of three outfielders, not four. Just because it works, fo the ends justify the means. Just imagine if in football the wide receivers could line up where they want to catch the ball or the QB could throw past the line of scrimmage or there was no offside rule in soccer.
  11. Nonsense like this and the extreme shifts we see routinely has to stop.
  12. A terrific player who will always be remembered by Mets fans for 1973 and was an incredible pinch hitter. Today on the Mets telecast, Keith Hernandez was saying that Rusty had 2800 hits (he actually had 2716) and could have gone to an AL team after the 1985 season to get his 3000 but Rusty wanted to stay in NY. He had many charitable causes but chief among them was the fund he set up for fallen officers in the line of duty.
  13. Until my iPod went on the fritz, most of my listening was done through there just because there never seems enough time in the day to listen to my system. I take it you have Spotify, then? I will have to check it out.
  14. What about all of the CDs and LPs you have. Are they just gathering dust?
  15. I had never heard that term before until I just read this thread and looked it up. As far as streaming, although I don't do it, streaming is fine as a complement to our collections but as a substitute it doesn't seem to make sense to me.
  16. He was a great ambassador to the sport and a great player for the teams he played on. RIP.
  17. More of the same I suppose. Maybe it will get more people interested in the music. I doubt it but you can always hope.
  18. Listened to these yesterday. Disc 1
  19. I am almost halfway to reading 10 Russian novels to read before you die. http://offtheshelf.com/2014/10/10-russian-novels-to-read-before-you-die/
  20. He probably should be sent down but they might not be able to do that until he struggles when it counts.
  21. There are so many to choose from.
  22. I just finished watching it and thought it was fantastic. I thought all the contributors were great — you could see he affected their lives in some way — but particularly enjoyed John Densmore and Cornel West (especially the part where he confessed he didn’t understand everything Trane was doing; I can relate to that). I plan to watch it again.
