    IPod Replacement

    She does live in Texas!
  2. HG, I just re-read my post. Hope it didn’t come across as confrontational. Maybe I should have said that I don’t want to hear something if it’s not good quality as I don’t want my view of an artist like Lee Morgsn lowered as a result.
  3. Thanks for that link. I saw Harold once in concert. It was a great experience.
  4. Thanks. I will check it out.

Scott, correct. I have a lot of other things on there and want to keep it separate. Thanks for the article. The Sony one is a tad different than the one mentioned at Hoffman, plus it doesn't have Bluetooth.

Does the Pono have a bad rep. A couple of the posters at the Hoffman Forum were really getting into it about the Pono.
  7. I would like to pre-order the cd version. Amy idea who stocks it. I looked at CD Japan but didn’t see it.
  8. Season also starts on Thursday for Mets. They had a horrible spring but the pitching looked good so I guess we’ll see.
  9. I ordered mine on March 23 for $38. Perhaps Sony jacked up the price when they saw it was selling well (assuming that’s the case). I still think it’s a good deal at $50.
  10. Apologies if this has been discussed before. My iPod Classic is starting to act quirky and it may be starting to go. I was thinking about a replacement, possibly a Touch but do I really need all the extra stuff since I already have an iPhone. Over on the Steve Hoffman Board, someone mentioned a Sony Walkman NW A-45, which is compatible with iTunes. As I wear (or am supposed to wear hearing aids), the Apple products are handy because they are compatible with the aids (the aids have Bluetooth and are wireless and I can play music through them) and I'd want a player that has Bluetooth. Any thoughts or opinions. Thanks.
  11. No Room for Squares for me.
  12. Since we're discussing Selects, they also had the slipcases for many of the Selects, not just the Selects for which they had discs. Since they're flat they should be easy to ship.
  13. I play it from time to time. Underrated recording.
  14. There are comments in the Hey Kids thread.
  15. Don't think I have this but as I'm listening to it, yes, it's must have.
  16. Listening to it now.
  17. So you're happy, right?
  18. Does that mean anything that was so poor in quality should be released just because "we" want to hear it? I'd say no.
  19. Probably asking price or lower. I probably should have bought some of the Nat King Cole but figured I’d spent enough.
  20. Lipi, that’s great! And thanks for the recommendations. I’m looking into those.
  21. Occupied, on Netflix. Russians taking over a country (Norway). Just fiction. Right?
  22. New York City had a large German section on the East Side between 79th to 86th and bordered by 2nd Avenue to Madison Avenue. And not just German food but Czech food too. I remember eating at a very good Czech restaurant in 1981 or 82 and having some delicious duck. I believe very few of these places are left. In their web site, http://www.heidelberg-nyc.com/#about, the Heidelberg Restaurant, which is still located in the heart of old Germantown, says that "Of the dozens of German restaurants that once adorned the streets of Yorkville in Manhattan's Upper East Side, the Heidelberg Restaurant is all that remains. Heidelberg has made it its mission to honor these establishments, and to preserve an important piece of cultural history."
  23. This one looks pretty interesting.
