  1. Mets keep on truckin'. They must have thought they were still in Coors Field last night as they bashed the Phillies. If they keep it up, they will face Dodgers or Giants. They were 4-3 vs Dodgers and 3-3 vs Giants. Either will be fine. Thank goodness they don't have to face the NL Central in the first round: they were a combined 3-17 against them.
  2. What if the Emperor picks up?
  3. The whole world is being consumed by over demand, that's just reality.
  4. That's a valuable resource to have off the bench: a pitcher who can hit. Dodgers Giants should be exciting down the stretch because the loser is going home (unless Cubs collapse).
  5. What is your point? Demand is outstripping supply, so they're farming fish. Wild is better obviously but that's the reality.
  6. Mets continue to roll while Nats continue to stumble. Watched the Nats Dodgers game. Vin Scully just keeps rolling along fantastically. He is a treasure.
  7. One of my first Mosaics. Great choice too. Hopefully it stays in print forever.
  8. I missed it. Too bad Sevilla lost.
  9. It's been a few years (about 10) since I've been to London but, yes, it's been changing, and not for the better, in my humble opinion. Thanks for the pics. Look like you were having a great time.
  10. I loved the Select series. Must have about 10 of them; really sorry to see them go.
  11. I see, from the Guardian, that Mourinho is already mixing it up with Benitez, actually Benitez's wife. A real class act Mourinho is.
  12. I will, of course, buy this but I will wait until it actually comes out as I don't want to have to spend the money until it's ready to be shipped.
  13. European season is not that far off. Good thing, now that the Tour de France is done. Waiting to see whether De Gea will be coming to Real and Ramos departing.
  14. Man in Profile: Joseph Mitchell of the New Yorker. It sent me scurrying for some of his works.
  15. Saw it about a year or so ago on TCM. Think Moreau is great in it. For those who missed it, TCM online probably has it for streaming.
  16. RIP. Will be forever known for Lawrence of Arabia and Zhivago, two great but quite different roles.
  17. That's a shame, RIP. I have always enjoyed his work.
  18. Absolutely terrible way to lose. Yes, it did remind me of the Escobar goal. Should be an interesting final.
  19. Tell that to the seven and under crowd
  20. Let's hope tonight is a good one. I do agree that this is the final before the final. A shame (unless you're English or Japanese) that this couldn't have been the final. I see that Barcelona is close to signing Pogba. Ouch (if you're a RM fan). With Benitez as coach it could be a dry spell for a while.
  21. The last time I tried to sell one it didn't get very much. I assume too much supply for the amount of buyers.
  22. Great box indeed. Would pony up for a second one.
  23. Very sorry to hear this. I sold him a Mosaic set several years ago and he was a very nice person. As others said, he seemed like a gentle soul. My condolences to his family and to the Organissimo family who knew him through here.
  24. The Canada England game was slightly entertaining but the quality of the soccer is ok. Frankly, the Copa America is not great either. Brasi had one beautiful scoring play against Paraguay but the rest of the time looked mediocre at best.
  25. It's actually more like 150. Violence against African Americans has been going on forever. This was the church of Denmark Vesey which was burned down after his slave revolt failed in 1822 and he was executed. Violence against black churches was rampant during Reconstruction and after. This can be likened to a mass lynching of which there are thousands of victims. No, you have to go back much farther. ? I don't follow the logic here at all. If you don't have to go back much farther, why go back much farther? (and I'm sure Chuck already knows that the problem goes back farther). It would be nice if we had to go back much farther, but we don't, and that's also sad. You do because there is a history of violence going back hundreds of years. To say 60 doesn't take into account what has happened before.
