With the Astros move, there would interleague play every day, which is unavoidable when you have 15 teams in each league. I wouldn't be surprised if the long term goal of the "minds that be" in baseball is to have somethin like the NFL where inter-conference games are part of the landscape.

It really is incredible. You can't speak for non-Penn State individuals and organizations, but the only inescapable conclusion you can draw from the Penn State organizations and individuals who knew is that it was all about protecting the brand and the stream of income from the football program.

I don't know if this is the answer but the ballpark the Marlins have played in (formerly Joe Robbie but no idea what it's called now) is atrocious. It's a football stadium and because of that and the weather, a lot of fans didn't show. They look like they have a great stadium now and they can use the roof. That should help. It's also in the middle of Little Havana. That could be a smart move, trying to lure Cuban Americans into the ballpark.

Marlins have reportedly made Reyes an offer of $90 mill for six years, something I'm sure the Mets won't try to match.

They're reporting up here that the Marlins (who are changing their name to the Miami Marlins) have made an offer to Pujols, as well as Reyes. I also believe they're moving into a new stadium in 2012.

Apparently Paterno has retained the services of a well known criminal attorney, which is probably a wise move, and the assistant coach has been put on administrative leave, apparently for his own protection.

With the NCAA and all these athletic programs, at least in the major sports, it's all about money. Did you see all those college presidents jumping that conference or this conference just for the cash? Borders on disgust.

Completely agree with Dan on this one. It's not like he saw someone stealing some ipods or breaking into players' lockers. He witnessed a heinous crime. Plus, who knows how long Sandusky had been doing this as he was at Penn State from the 70s I believe. The only thing that Paterno, in my opinion, thought about was protecting the brand and probably thought he could keep a lid on it. It exploded in his face and justifiably so. His legacy at Penn State has become a farce, a puddle of shame.
