Just listened to The Brass Giants the other day. What a joy to listen to. Probably the first time I've listened to it since this thread started
  2. My pleasure. Hope you enjoy 'em David, Just replied.
  3. Just sent you a pm T.D. Thanks.
  4. I hope his parents sue the ass off the police department and the school. My son has ADD and the school, although providing requisite services and such, was only interested in the star students. I'm so glad he's out of that god damn school system.
  5. Prices reduced; everything is $5. Knocked .50 off on shipping also.
  6. Joe, Sent pm back. Chuck, no problem

  8. Assuming he's vindicated or no further charges brought, the amount of Tours he won is impressive by any standard and would have to make him, at least in my book, one of the notable athletes of our time.
  9. Gattuso is so aggressive that sometimes I think he should see the yellow card before he even steps on the field. Gattuso always seems like that, always on edge. I thought the Gunners were the better team for the last 30 minutes or so. At least they won. Losing or tying at home would have been a blow.
  10. I think the one by the Garden is staying open.
  11. Sounds like Chuck and Uptown had a less than friendly parting. Too bad
  12. Since late last year, they haven't been getting that many books in because they can't pay the publishers and the deal they offered was rejected by them. Hopefully, the reorg case will allow the books to be stocked again.
  13. Isn't that four words? Only two words that count are "Play Ball!"
  14. Spring training games start in about three weeks
  15. I looked through their catalogue and they just seem like rip-offs, EU law notwithstanding. For example, if you look at Sonny Rollins, you see some OJC/Concord albums, which should still be available. I suppose it's not worth the effort for Concord to bring a claim, if such is possible.
  16. Based on what Jim says, I'll be cringing when they have the Super Bowl in 2014 at the Meadowlands in New Jersey. Fortunately, I live 45 minutes away but if just your ordinary game days are any indication, oh my god! My son and I went to the last Jets regular season game. Parking was a joke. When the SB comes, Route 3 and Rutherford and environs will be one place to avoid.
  17. It's pretty amazing or lucky I guess that the new rules haven't come into play so far this offeseason.
  18. Let's face it, we probably wouldn't want to be friends with any owner of a professional sports team.
  19. The lawsuit has been unsealed and the trustee, Irving Picard, is asking for $300 million in "fictitious profits" as well as hundreds of millions because of what the trustee describes as willful negligence. According to a lawyer for the trustee, as set forth in an article that just appeared in the New York Times, the amount could reach $1 billion. If it's anything close to that, the present owners will, in all likelihood, have to sell the Mets and their station, SNY, just to cover these debts. The trustee has made some big recoveries in the Madoff litigation (there was one investor whose widow returned $7 to 8 billion to the trustee) and who is to say that he won't make one here.
  20. I'll take Cuban as owner. Where do I sign? It will be interesting to see home the trustee is seeking to recover when the lawsuit is unsealed today. Apparently, negotiations collapsed yesterday, with the trustee reportedly seeking $1 billion.
  21. Dust is a problem for whatever you collect. Constant enemy.
  22. Got an email from Jim that it has shipped.
  23. Added it to the want list. Thanks Ghost.
  24. You have to wonder what happened to the deferred payments and whether they have the money to make them. If not, you'll see some suits from players. The sooner they get the hell out, the better off the Mets will be.
  25. Selections sound good although I think this probably belongs in the new releases section, not here.
