If you like vocals, what about Ella Fitzgerald or Dinah Washington?

Singers Unlimited Do Beatles Better Than the Beatles
Brad replied to Teasing the Korean's topic in Miscellaneous Music
I heard some Manhattan Transfer on the XM Jazz station while driving into work. So, how do you see them versus Singers Unlimited. I much prefer MT but I can see how SU might have some merits. -
Have the 32 Jazz version and sounds good to me. Haven't heard the others. Whatever version you can get, run, don't walk to get Sonny in top form. Also, pick up if you can everything else released on 32 Jazz!

but are they better than "elvis"? How can you be better than something which really doesn't exist? Just imagine -
Singers Unlimited Do Beatles Better Than the Beatles

No comparison. When I listen to them, I'm somewhat reminded of Muzak or Lawrence Welk. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery but these versions don't flatter the original. -

He's not of my favorites so a pass on this for me. -
Not my favorite people to deal with as I alluded to.

I checked and I made a mistake and don't have Baritone Madness. I have Burn Brigade, sorry. Great music however. The person who might be able to help you is Mark Sheldon (sheldonm on the Forum). I believe he knows or knew the owner of Bee Hive and I believe he has a lot of their catalogue.

To my knowledge no. I don't have a copy on vinyl but do have a cppy

Interesting way to advertise. I never found them that cheap (I live about an hour away) but it might be worth going down there to take a look anyway.

I found Cashman's attitude and disclosure of his stance a little odd. If I told my superior that I didn't want to participate in a decision the company made (as long as it didn't violate laws or ethics) and then after the deal was done told the world I disagreed with the decision, I think I'd be looking for a new job. Somehow, the rules we all have to live by don't seem to apply to the sports world.

Haven't these accusations been around for years (as evidenced by the age of this thread) and nothing has stuck yet?

You don't want the thing to cause a fire Alexander. I'd follow the above advice and pull the plug. How about taking it to some sort of repair shop (if those still exist and it's not prohibitively expensive).

How do you deal w/ all the music you'll never hear?
Brad replied to colinmce's topic in Miscellaneous Music
It's not possible to know what you don't know and that just doesn't include music. For example, my son asks me why I read so much about Abraham Lincoln, one of my heroes. He says you know so much about him already. My answer: there is always more to know. -
Well since the baseball season is not in season but the football one is I could hardly say anything about the baseball season could I? But I don't see the Eagles still in contention. On the other hand, I do see the Jets. Hmm. Yeah, that's right But now, getting back to baseball, why should he more bold in his statement. We all know the Phillies are going to probably win the Division so why make stupid statements? Mets have to shed some salary and won't be active players until they do so for a couple of years they'll be treading water and hope to be a little competitive but probably not. I'm sure you must have better things to do than worry about what an also ran team is doing or is it that usual Philadelphia inferiority just coming to the fore?

Brasil '66 Does Beatles Better Than the Beatles
Brad replied to Teasing the Korean's topic in Miscellaneous Music
Couldn't find Norwegian Wood on You Tube but listened to Fool on the Hill which I probably hadn't heard in at least 20 years. It's different than the original, maybe more polished or smoother than the Beatles. It's good in its way but not as good as the original in my view. At least I don't like it as much -
Sonny Clark -- an interesting article
Brad replied to Victor Christensen's topic in Miscellaneous Music
Same here Please give us a review Vic when you get it -
All I can say is that you must be having a very boring Winter. Guess must be things slow in Philadelphia that you have to be trolling around in the NY Daily News, what with the dog killer and the clipped birds having been booted from the playoffs. If a player doesn't think his team can compete, then he shouldn't be on the team.

I would say it's both: Oakland As and Yankees.

What can you say about people like Rudy? Words wouldn't do the job. Although my son is nowhere like Rudy, he does have certain learning difficulties and you do learn to scale back your dreams and hopes for your son. I feel for the Parkers.
