All of the above First three choices actually.

Now, that's funny. Definitely

Probably any cover from a rapper.
-
Interessting that it's only available through Amazon. Wonder if this is the wave of the future on certain things.
-
Well granted it won't be as bad as choking on a 7 1/2 game lead w/ 17 to play like the Mets did in 2007 but it will still suck. I enjoyed tonight's game tonight. Doesn't mean much overall. I'd like to see the Phils get a little of their own medicine.

I am finding the same, while much louder but also warm and clear. I am hearing not so much isolation but space (in floating surrounded by air quality) in the instruments if that make sense. Believe it or not but Revolution #9 was also a blast. Maybe I am older now and have gone through a electronica/ DJ and experimental music phase but I having a hard time on why people hate on it so much. I listened to it last week on an old copy and, man, it's just weird. However, I can't get out of my head the words "Number 9, Number 9, Number 9......"

Carpe diem indeed. Don't wait.

Great site! Thanks for posting. Ditto.

Should be quite the stampede when the Mobley finally hits 'last chance'. You would think that by this time, everybody who wants has it. Wasn't it made almost 10 years ago?
-
You'd think an arm & a leg......but surprisingly not. $300 or so. A helluva deal actually for someone that doesn't have most of this stuff in triplicate like most of us. For that amount of CDs, that's a good price.
-
Wonder how much that's going to cost? Yikes!

I've never really looked at any Beatles sites. I'm sure there must be thousands. For those in the know, are there are any particular ones you like. I came across this one, Beatles Lyrics, which has snippets from the Beatles about who wrote a song, why, etc.
-
I've never owned a Beatles record and the whole thing is lost on me I'm afraid. Possibly due to hype and over-exposure growing up 'Oop North' when they were in their heyday. I won't be buying the mono set.. It's never too late. Why not pick up an album like Revolver or Rubber Soul and see what you think.

These reissues have generated excitement (and hence discussion) because it takes us back to an exciting period, an exciting time in our lives and to music that is just damn good that we took it for granted, plus one of the greatest groups ever, as was said.

Here's a review from the Village Voice.

Listening to Magical Mystery Tour and found "Your Mother Should Know" ironic. Talking about dancing to a hit before your mother was born probably at that time in the 60s referred to big band jazz. However, now that we're all older (I'm in my late 50s), this could now refer to songs we used to listen to such as this song.

Don't know who that member is but I'm definitely interested if he/she wants to contact me. It's still available at Amazon for $230. Gonna take a couple of weeks for them to get it back in stock, but that's about the best price you're going to find. After reading all the comments here, I succumbed and ordered the mono box from Amazon. I think delivery time is three weeks minimum. This will be on top of the seven stereo ones I purchased yesterday so it will be interesting to compare. I did the same exact thing today on Amazon (ordered the mono set though I no intention of doing so originally). By the way, which 7 Stereo CDs did you purchase? Norm, I got Revolver, Rubber Soul, Magical Mystery Tour, Abbey Road, the White Album, Let it Be and Sergeant Peppers.

Beatles For Sale, mediocre ? No Reply,I'm A Loser, Baby's In Black,Eight Days A Week, I'll Follow The Sun, Every Little Thing are mediocre ? I'm just going from memory but isn't Mr. Moonlight on that album. Not to mention Kansas City (my first exposure to that song). Not mediocre to me.

I was living in Brasil in 1962 when my mother won this album in a school lottery. I constantly played that album and it came with me when we moved back to the US in 1963, back to Brasil in 1964, back to the US in 1964, to Spain in 1965 and back to the US in 1967. Thinking that the Cd age was upon us, with vinyl never to be revisited, I sold it in 1984, a move I've regretted ever since, but the memories stay with you.

I guess Allen missed the lesson that day about run on sentences

I know this is not the same but the local Fye had one of the original Dexter Cds, which you used to go for a lot before the Select. If anybody wants me to get it, I'll go back this weekend to see if it's still there.
-
That is a pretty funny article for sure, totally dead pan.

Fortunately, I had purchased all those Selects as they were issued or I'd be facing a big bill today. Besides the ones on Kevin's list, I'd recommend the Bennie Green. Never a big fan of the Pearson although I have it. Of the no longer available ones, I have the Gordon, Brookmeyer and the Pepper and I like them in inverse order. I hope someone gets their ass fired for that. How the hell can you destroy a master. Jesus Christ

Agree about the basslines.
