  1. Just received this. Will be playing it this weekend.
  2. How some with 11 posts makes these idiotic statements is beyond me. Perhaps he's been in the heat too long.
  3. New Jersey. Where Money Is the Only Thing. Spoken like a true Pennsylvanian, a state I'm glad to leave as soon as I can, not to mention the home to bad sports teams (at least in Philadelphia )
  4. I don't think anyone whose last name or moniker signifies something you stir a drink with has much to complain about .
  5. And they're barely a .500 team, with the Marlins about to pass them. That merits MVP? The MVP is Beltran. Howard may the best player. MVP? Not exactly.
  6. I live in NJ and there are some great parts to this state that you jokers wouldn't recognize and while there are not so great parts, what state doesn't have them?
  7. Happy Birthday, God!
  8. I've got Number 7. It's enjoyable.
  9. To me it was just a suck up piece, good PR for him (as if he needs anymore) and all that. I was disappointed in Mr. Chinen.
  10. I have and enjoy his Birdland Dream Band. Not so much the later stuff but a heck of a performer. RIP.
  11. There was a thread about this on Reissues that's been closed (wonder why). Any updates on the status and is AAJ the only alternative?
  12. Paypal? Oh, dear. That's making it too easy.
  13. Fully in agreement with Hans' recs. For me Aftermath is their greatest album, followed by Between the Buttons. All of the early pre 65 is good too. Particularly Red Rooster. That was the first time I'd ever heard that. Goin' Home on Aftermath ranks up there for me. Not mentioned here but Their Satanic Majesties Request while ok was just a Sgt. Pepper clone, not really worth buying.
  14. I guess I'll stick with my old copy.
  15. Check ebay completed auctions. You never know.
  16. Funny you should mention it, cuz Bernie and Waymon sound like musical soulmates. How long before we get a collaboration? I wonder if John Stirling (voice of the Yankees) likes Bernie's cd? I can hear it now "Burn, Bernie, burn."
  17. I think the question is who is the most influential musician of all time. I couldn't pick one, I'd have to pick three: Armstrong, Duke and Parker. I believe they changed our music the most.
  18. That's a double no. I guess she spent her time in the slammer listening to a lot of jazz.
  19. I tell you I wasn't too happy for the Met fans rooting for Utley's streak to end. I would have liked to see it continue. It would have been something if he could have gotten past Rose's 44 so he just had 12 games to go.
  20. Guy's just a cheater. This is a sport that needs to be really cleaned up or they need to make the Tour less demanding.
  21. Has any of this ever been issued before and how does one order it?
  22. Don't know if this has been on but here's an old one of Dizzy,
  23. I saw the Marlins the last few nights as they were playing the Mets. If they hadn't gotten off to such a terrible start -- people were picking them to lose over 100 -- who know what kind of race we'd have. A very excting team. Next year should be interesting in the NL East.
