  1. Good luck Dan. Hope everything goes well.
  2. Thanks for the review. Sounds interesting but may pass on it.
  3. Any thoughts on the Scott LaFaro disc?
  4. Just received this from Run Out Groove.
  5. She tolerates it. She prefers swing, definitely not a bop or hard bop fan.
  6. The principal reason the USPS is in financial straits is that under a law adopted in 2006 it must pre-fund its pension obligations for 75 years. Pre-funding is required for most pension plans under the 1974 Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). However, requiring a company to fully fund pension benefits 75 years in advance is not the norm. In addition, the USPS must pre-pay retiree medical benefits, not just pension obligations. This requirement doesn’t apply to other companies.
  7. I read the articles and felt that any discussion would turn political. The issue of fixing the Post Office has become political but it shouldn’t be a political issue. It’s like everything else i this country: what shouldn’t be political has become so. If only I could move back overseas.
  8. Glad you got it. On Japanese sellers, the po isn’t shipping to the US until sometime in August, per what I’ve been told.
  9. Based on J.L.’s tag, I think he’s looking for the cd called Troubled Waters: Deep Soul from the Deep South, https://www.discogs.com/Various-Troubled-Waters-Deep-Soul-From-The-Deep-South/release/3782260 Since he doesn’t use PayPal finding a copy may be difficult.
  10. Things are going well in NJ because our Governor has been on top of things. He had been planning to permit indoor dining but after several states had a spike in cases due in part to indoor dining, he reversed himself. Gyms were tentatively slated to open in several weeks (no fixed timetable however) but I can’t see that happening in the foreseeable future. New cases in our county have remained steady for the last couple of months (7 to 13 a day). Unfortunately, you can’t place a moat around NJ or the NE, so I expect things to get worse, particularly in the fall. I have observed very few people not wearing masks.
  11. Catching up on a few of Camille Bertault’s videos. This one grew on me.
  12. The currently hardest hit areas are probably going to suffer disruption.
  13. The season appears to be just around the corner. Mets and Yankees are playing a home and home exhibition series. Both games will be televised on YES and SNY.
  14. And I had a reply prepared. Oh, well
  15. Babylon Berlin. Can’t wait for season 4.
  16. I’m sure that the pharma companies are or will be working on second and third generation of vaccines, just as they do with flu vaccines.
  17. I’m assuming, perhaps wrongly, that if 50-60% of the population is infected, the rate of infection has significantly increased.
  18. Based on the current infected rate, 800K-2M dead is probably a conservative figure.
  19. Give it a day and something worse will happen. I’m not sure I follow “And up here in Canada!” Does that mean Canada is immune to theft? Don’t think so.
