Someone put Fredbird out of his (and our) misery.

What rock music are you listening to? Non-Jazz, Non-Classical.

The Mamas and Papas Deliver is also pretty good. -
Anyone old enough that remember jazz listening stations?

When I lived in Barcelona in the mid 60s there were some record stores that had booths. -
I think the concept has been floated for several years. See Play Ball: MLB announces 2020 regular season, which says that “The batter who made the final out in the previous inning (or a pinch-runner for that batter) would be that runner.”

I’m not a fan of it either. I have the sinking feeling that it will become permanent.

I would commute to New York City from Stamford, Connecticut on the Metro North, about a 50 minute ride. Lots of time to read. My hats off to you for reading on the subway. Too distracting for me.

Iconoclasm it seems.

I have to confess I haven’t read Farewell to Arms, although I do have it. His booms about Spain are my favorites.

If you’re thinking about going to the gym once they re-open in your state or country, the following may be useful: How to Lower Your Coronavirus Risk at the Gym Exercising While Wearing a Mask (weights, etc. will be easier than cardio). When I used to commute to NY by train years ago, I got a lot of reading in. The bikes are for music!

Sounds painful. If so, why bother? I’m making another run at Berlin Alexanderplatz. If it won’t take off, I will probably sell my copy.

His wife has it too. He’s an anti vaxxer and was objecting to the procedures the USTA was going to put in place for the US Open. I’d like to think he will now have a different perspective but I doubt it.

Demonstrators tried to pull the Jackson statue in Lafayette Park in DC but were eventually repulsed by police. This follows on the heels of statues of Washington and Grant being pulled down. Although I have no issue with getting rid of Confederate statues, I’m not sure how I feel about Jackson. Washington and Grant? No, those shouldn’t be touched.

The compromise has been rejected. Buster Olney tweeted that “And the dominoes are now likely set to tumble: 1. Implementation of a short season by MLB 2. Some players choosing not to play. 3. PA grievance 4. Upcoming free agents get destroyed in market 5. All major labor issues merely deferred to next spring. Mutually assured destruction.” I think you’ll see a lot of players not choosing to report.

A lot of people seem to think they have the right to go anywhere they choose. Wrong. When you’re on private property, the property owner can make any reasonable rules it wishes to impose. -

That’s all you need to know. -
That’s a good question. I assume we will find out in the near future.

40 players and other personnel have tested positive. It’s time to give up on baseball for this year. However, I don’t see the situation being any better come next March. If that is indeed the case, we may see several franchises filing for bankruptcy protection. In addition, I can’t see the NFL, NBA and NHL being able to play this year.

What are your plans shopping at record stores when they reopen?
Brad replied to jcam_44's topic in Miscellaneous Music
Princeton Record Exchange, the largest record store in this area, only specifies that buying collections is by appointment only. I looked at their FB page and since they are allowing only 25 people in the store at a time, this weekend there was a 45 minute wait to get in.
