  8. Nice gallery of Warne imagery here: http://www.warnemarsh.info/photogallery.htm I like this one too: Equal parts uber-genius beyond this plane and ongoing dissipation. There it is.
  9. 1987, allegedly. Either the date is way off or those cars need to get back in the time machine.
  10. So...is the Google Ad program tracking our posts here, or at least looking for key words? Or did you do some searching for chairs during the course of that conversation?
  11. hint - think pothead pixies Is that a Gong reference?
  12. Oh yeah! "Turn-Down Day", though, was produced by John Simon, not Tom Wilson, although Paul Simon co-wrote "Red-Rubber Ball". So either way, there's a Simon involved, but not a Wilson. Actually, I don't think there was a Wilson involved at all, Tom or otherwise!
  13. All I know is what I've read, but I think that the original Newport festival was set up so that less high-profile acts played short sets during the afternoon and the bigger names were saved for the evening, where they played longer sets.
  14. of "Red Rubber Ball" fame Also "Turn-Down Day"!
  15. Bent Fabric Ally McBeal Cat Anderson
  16. When my kids were growing up, we got a steady diet of Raposo songs from Sesame Street. Lots of good stuff there, for sure. Remember the Buddy Rich version of "Bein' Green" where Buddy sang it? Supposedly it was his favorite song. For more hidden gems in a children's song context, watch a bunch of old Mister Rogers shows. Don't know if John Costa co-wrote them with Fred Rogers or not, but there's some good songs there.
  17. "Train wreck"? As in CRASH!!! BOOM!!! CRUNCH!!! NOBODY WALKS AWAY ALIVE? Not for me.... I hear it as a rather high-level study in friction.

  19. Ian went to the bar, got Josh in his car (so I guess he wasn't too trashed) and made Josh promise him that he was going home and staying home. Josh promised, and that was that, only Josh went back out after while (another troubling thing...). In the press conference, he admitted lying to his teammate. There appears to be a very deep bond between Ian & Josh, so I'm not expecting "damage", at least not now. I think all the organization and most (probably/hopefully) know what they're dealing with. And that includes Josh. These current Rangers have, to this point, been one of the more tightly-knit teams in pro sports today. It's a big part of why I've gotten so into supporting them. This incident will just be another test, one which they will all survive and learn from. Hopefully. And yes, at some point there will be more. That's just the nature of the beast.
  20. There have been a fair number of good skits on SNL last season and this one. And some not so good ones. But I usually watch when practical, which was not the case for quite a while.
  21. He drank in public one night, didn't binge (at least not that has come out)/go on a multi-day bender, knows he did wrong, admitted it publicly (the press conference was yesterday), and the rest...nobody knows. It's being kept private, as it should be. It's troubling, to be sure, but the good news is that he seems to be using his support network and did not is careen/is not careening out of control. The bad news is that this is always going to be a problem for him, for the rest of his life.
  22. Walton can also be heard with Blakey on Anthenagin & Buhania, both early 70s albums on Prestige.
