  1. Thanks. I don't know how tall Benny Golson is.
  2. Joe Newman/Wilder?
  3. The difference is that that band had an honest 11.
  4. Track 18 here: https://archive.org/details/CompleteRouletteRecordingsoftheMaynardFergusonOrchestra_201904
  5. Nobody uses disembodied heads anymore.
  6. Ashton Kutcher Culture Club Gorgeous George
  7. This T20 format is not at all difficult to watch a match and follow. And the way the math plays out makes for some good, suspenseful endings. Tickets for a MLC game are only $30.00. That's the good news. The bad news is that it's in July. But 7:30 PM start time, and many of the seats will have shade at that time. Maybe I will go see a match. Why not?
  8. Oh well. Gotta save something for the next life, if that will include music from this one ..
  9. Ooga Shokks!!! RIP
  10. If you can hear Slide's arrangement of "Dancing In The Dark" that he did with Maynard, check that out, totally gonzo.
  11. There's so many of those things...and that's the first guy I go to for them...but damn that's a lot of records!
  12. I've been able to afford a few of the older sets that were not a high priority for me at the time. Still not looking to catch em all (they're Mosaics, not Pokemon) but still, it's nice to pick up some to full it out more.
  13. Is that the complete repertoire of those pieces?
  14. That West 54 label was small and short-lived, but most of what they put out is worth hearing. https://www.discogs.com/de/label/176328-West-54?page=1
  15. Looks like the Grand Prairie venue was a hit! Hosting four spellbinding T20 World Cup matches and delivering a world-class spectacle for packed crowds and millions on television, the Grand Prairie Stadium’s role in the American story is potentially transformative for the game in the country. https://www.icc-cricket.com/tournaments/t20cricketworldcup/news/dallas-delivers-reflecting-on-a-transformative-t20-world-cup-week-in-texas
  16. The Speedway or whatever it's called record was a very pleasant surprise for me, the writing is very inventive.
  17. Devoted to Maynard's trumpet "machismo". There's a lot more to that Roulette box music than the high notes (a lot more), but that's not what keeps the price high. No pun intended.
  18. Obits are everywhere, take your pick. I'm old enough to remember him as a pro player, but he was always great, and stayed great in the front office. RIP
  19. Just my opinion, but the only Richards that I can can get through totally groan-free is Stan Kenton's Adventures In Time, and that's because it starts over the top and never blinks.
  20. When it started to get silly (imo), I was reminded of the work that Richards did for Boyd Raeburn. Raeburn might be a good pick for a BFT. Hmmm...
  21. Debussy can be found here: https://www.amazon.com/Claude-Debussy-Composer-Pianist-Collection/dp/B00005IC03 Ravel here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00008BNTE?psc=1&smid=A21I6SH8GPCODY&ref_=chk_typ_imgToDp
  22. Where is Dock Ellis when you need him?
  23. Is #7 Johnny Richards?
