  5. That's not gel like people put in their hair, is it?
  6. Prestige Folklore: https://www.jazzdisco.org/prestige-records/catalog-folklore-14000-series/album-index/ Prestige had a buttload full of other sub-labels. International, spoken word, Gospel, you name it. And then there was TruSound, whatever that was supposed to be.
  7. Prestige had sub-labels for this type of stuff.
  8. Am I supposed to eat cake every day now? I mean, I can do that, no problem, but I'd prefer pie. Cobbler, actually. Please advise.
  9. Dottie Slopacker - Let Me Call You, Sweetheart...
  10. Sammy & Sheila - We Were Young Together
  11. So, John Towner?
  12. Hey, winning ANY game at all is an accomplishment......
  13. Also get this DVD if you don't already have it. Truly a treasure! https://www.amazon.com/Stax-Volt-Revue-Live-Norway/dp/B000UB054U/ref=asc_df_B000UB054U/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=693366125681&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=6321415702778594931&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9026802&hvtargid=pla-450284767664&psc=1&mcid=f20f3fb210863fc984233a9a884a4fb4&gad_source=1
  14. This is the first, and imo still the best, book about Stax, start to finish: https://www.amazon.com/Soulsville-U-S-Story-Records/dp/0825672848/ref=asc_df_0825672848/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=693683181839&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=16736990023880112290&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9026802&hvtargid=pla-497010622035&psc=1&mcid=bb16bb1ce7bd3b76a3b46b0137be7c7f&gad_source=1 From 1997!!! Al Bell's reach far exceeded his grasp, but Union Planters was more than happy to let him free fall and then be there to play "just business....". They had options. All banks have options. Ok, it looks like Rob Bowman was involved in the Hulu series. Good!
  15. @tkeith Thom, please check your PMs...
  16. Mine too, but he has been quite active! https://toddcochran.com/
  17. Langston Pudding - Spoons!!!
  18. I got the LPs of both it and Cirrus at about the same time. Same photo shoot, totally different records! Liked both (for different reasons), so didn't bother to pay attention for any additional tracks when the CD came out. DOH!!! I like Head On as a tie-in of sorts to Iapetus, so anything extra will be welcome. Bayete was into something a little different there! And with it being left out of the upcoming BH Mosaic ang left of the Select...sorta seems like "now or never" .
  19. Guess I was napping when the , Connoisseur of Head On with the extra music was released. Remedied today, but for a much higher price than it would have been if I wouldn't have been napping back then.
  20. Planet Miles is a swell place to visit at length, but to actually live there...
  21. The Found Baby - A Long Way From Nowhere
  22. JSngry

    Laufey

    Cool.
  23. That bank, who was it, Union Planters?
  24. Regarding voicings, McCoy always credited Richie Powell as his influence. There was life outside of Planet Miles!
