  1. I know I see a mix of legit label items and those WTF origin-ed "albums" side by side. I'd like to think that the original albums are at least some sort of quality mp3 or higher, but...who knows? And nothing would surprise me, to be honest. But I'm loving Spotify. If Pandora is like a radios station, Spotify is like a record store with a listening booth. And commercials, but good lord, I grew up on Top 40 AM. Commercials are like my briar patch.
  2. What type of files does Spotify stream? Is it constant across the platform or do they just work with what they can get?
  3. Is Mickey Tucker on piano, organ, or both?
  4. No worries. I just wondered, because, you know, funny things can happen with pianos and studios. But grandparentVocabulary is always cool. My granddaughter is picking up on a few of mine and I'm loving it!!!
  5. ? You mean an upright? Or did they not provide a bench? That would be bizarre, but certainly not outside the realm of possibility!
  6. An EXCELLENT compilation!
  7. Whimpering Fred Jacuzzi - Love, Stop Following Me Home
  8. I'd have expected more as well...but that group was doing it with the rubato-ish opening as well. Are those Losin listings all the recoding in that timespan? Or are there other shows where they didn't play it? I would not expect there to be any with the sextet...but with the Hank group, maybe.
  9. BFT 223, in which Mantan Moreland finally gets his due. As do a few others. Link: http://thomkeith.net/index.php/blindfold-tests/ Something for everybody. Or not. Enjoy!
  10. When did they stop playing Funny Valentine? Whenever that was, before they stopped playing it, it had slowed down in its initial exposition.
  11. Sir Lady Crinkleface - High-Def's A Bitch!!!
  12. He did excellent work RIP.
  13. But didn't the ballads get slower for the Lost Quintet, and maybe a little before them? Seems like at some point they slowed down to almost dirge tempos, the better to tear apart with further metric extrapolations. But that's a memory, not an assertion of fact.
  14. Not going to say that Miles never had bands that weren't tight, but when he did, it got fixed! The studio albums, those were as much Teo as the were Miles, and I listen to them as such. Got no problem with that either. And I don't think I will have a problem if the do live collections from later years either, because those were REALLY tight bands, like, pop band tight bands. Still, the Electric Jungle band set needs to be done and to be done right. That's a whole nother type of tight!
  15. The Latuda Brothers - NOW I Feel Better!!!
  16. A lot of people get/got the benefit of the doubt when they appear to have potential to keep developing and growing. And then. If they don't...who cares?
  17. At this point in time, I have no opinion. I have a lot of good records from all kinds of years. And if I try to think to hard about what year they're from...ouch, my head hurts! #whinybabywhinybabywahwahwah
  18. Is it just me, or does that always look like a RCA cover?
  19. Not just that, but Evans wrote one, and possibly both.
  20. New Amsterdam is a pretty interesting label.
  21. Violet Drevell - Tell Me What Happens
  22. Shari Lewis (w/Lamb Chop) Didn't bug me at all. Just checking to make you you knew what you were doing. I mean, posting your personal data - especially your location (there was a property address in that image) - in a non-secure web forum is never an advised move. But it's your call. Put it back up there if you want to!
  23. Why do you want to show people where you live? Are you sure that's safe?
