  1. It's the go-to.
  2. Why isn't dodgeball on The Ocho?
  3. They only have these games because they figure people will watch them. If they have an audience, they can sell time and get a sponsor to carry the load..If it costs them more to do it than they make on it, they will stop. That's what happened to the now-forgotten Bluebonnet Bowl (which was really just a means to make the Astrodome some money) and almost happened to the venerable Cotton Bowl. I've stopped watching even the big bowls, just because college athletics no longer interest me. But those little ancillary games that would be on, like a Thursday afternoon and you're home from school and oh, hey, football, let me grab some snacks and a beer, sure, why not? Not even going to do that, let somebody else watch those games, preschoolers, maybe.
  4. I will take their suggestion and make reservations - what's the Area Code? And should I tell them that Varty sends me? No, wait Trane sends me, Varty sent me?
  5. I look at is as infinite variations of a few basic themes. It's a bit inspirational, really, that it all comes down to that, and then goes out all these different ways. I mean, if some guy said, "I never really knew what all this was about until one day the ghost of my Martian grandfather served me a whole raw squirrel doused with balsamic vinegar. That was when I knew what my life was going to be!", hey, that would just be weird, right? I mean, that guy would probably not even be noted, must less quoted, right?
  6. Most effective use of a paper clip ever!
  7. They all pretty much say the same 1-5 things, it seems. Assume nothing, reject labels, work hard, work meaningfully to find yourself, and then project past your immediate self. Shouldn't be any surprise in that, if anything's going to work, those things will.
  8. Is this the same Membran that did those mega classical boxes a while back, the 8,000,000 CDs for 50 cents things? How were those, anyway? I never tried them, the old if it's too good to be true then it probably isn't thing.
  9. A alleged gift from Lester Koenig via the blogosphere. I don't think so. But anyway, op art cover for Christmas.
  10. Thanks!
  11. Is that "Gene" (probably Perla?) or "Geno" (who?)?
  12. Not when you see all the little boys and girls playing gleefully, that lasts! Santa brings the happy, but it's up to us to keep it going.

  14. You go dude, you GO!
  15. My dad was ecstatic when he came over to the Astros from the Braves. "He's a good Lutheran boy!" he said on more than one occasion.
  16. Don't take my word for it, take Hank Ballard's!

  19. Roku still has a YouTube app, but it's about the clunkiest damn thing ever. Haven't gotten in to casting yest. I have the ability but not the patience. to figure it out
  20. I don't know...my Roku is an older model, probably w/o all of the current functionalities. I've tried the search function all kinds of ways and no luck. Something to look forward to for the new year!
