  5. chewy-chew-chew is here to say:L i want 2 hear that story in a serious way. do tell! i promoise i wont get mad
  6. HI CHEWY-CHEW-CHEW HERE 2 REPORT CLAUDE IS RIGHT U JUST DO THE LETTER DEALIE AND MAIL IT TOUR YOURSELF- BE SURE NOT TO OPEN IT! ALSO, SEALED LETTERS ALWAYS MAKE WOMEN NERVOUS SO PUT IT IN YOUR LOCAL SAFE-DEPOSIT BOX. If your box is full stuffed with important secret crap already, like sometimes can happen, then just keep it in your house, the same way you would hide jewelry or pornagraphic film reels.
  7. browine: let me tell u: this stylings lp was knarlyified. today in the paper there was a coupon: FREE .99cent LP atthe record store! even then i didnt buy Stylings. it look like it was like used in a prop record in a prop house during a nuclear test project. the only reason it actually survived is cause of that damn thick rvg vinyl. it was like i should mail it back to horace silver in malibu, CA; just so he can see it
  8. OK IM ONLY GOING 2 SAY THIS ONCE, BUT IF THEY DONT DO 'GLAMOUR PROFESSION' IT IS GOING TO RUIN MY NIGHT. THEVE PLAYED IT A COUPLE OF TIMES THIS TOUR BUT NOT EVR'Y SHOW. (DITTO SHOW BIZ KIDS BUT ID EVEN FORGIVE THAT IF THEY JUST DO GLMAMOR PROFESSION THE L.A. CONCESSION
  9. come on guys chewy really wants to get to the bottom of this! i know u guys know it!
  10. chewy would buy the duke lp, but then eat baked beans for two weeks
  11. ive tried and have come up dry- i just wanted some basic info on why the jrvgs sound better-- are the both done by mr. rvg himself? if so why are the jrvg considered better.
  12. the only time ive seen right touch was in SF five yrs ago and it was 25 bucks- should of got it.
  13. hi everybody-- chewy-chew-chew back thisafternoon here- yes DMP i as well would find your story of interest in regards to seeing big john and grant in a live setting....do tell!
  14. u guys think youre so fucking holly jazz afficinanatos hatin' on the funk like you do, but in reality you are the lamest music fans in the universe. grant started his carreer in R&B and returned to it later in life, he had more roots in that music than in his more straight ahead albums. that aside you guys really stick my pricker. tell us the real reasons you dont like the funky stuff now. it obviously has nothing to do w/ the actual music, since it has already been determinded that the actual music is good--- so whats the real rason? do you have a circle of jazz friends you shant dissapoint? do you feel uncomfortable around the music of urban black people? did you have a bad expierence with funk as a child? you know what it really is i think? its that you dont really understand grants more complex bebop stuff so you all worship it and turn your noses down the other stuff. well you are not more elite or smarter or better jazz lovers it is just the opposite you are closeminded obsessive jazz weirdos and you are no better than those who listen to Kenny G
  15. ye ayea wwell guess what my friend is sending me on aIm right now: AND DON INTRODUCES ALL THE TUNES AND STUFF Don Byas Haarlem, Holland July 4, 1964. Radio B+/A- Some Radio hiss Don Byas- Tenor Sax Pim Jacobs- Piano Rudy Jacobs- Bass John Engels- Drums 01. Billie's Bounce 3:53 02. I Remember Clifford 9:34 03. Ladybird 9:54 04. Groovin' High 7:58
  16. remember once we talked about how Tina brooks- true blue is considered the rarest bluenote lp. well what about others, i found a copy of stylings of sliver for .99 cts across the street but its fucking MANGELED. it would of just cracked and been thrown away by now but because its BN vinyl that good thick stuff, its actually survived...its just fucking TRASHED!! anyways how rare is it? should i get it just for posterity. even the cover is masking taped on 3 of the 4 corners. i recall someone saying even some of HANKS early lps only moved like 100 copies...who knows more blue note stats info. eg. the album, and how many sold. i bet you we'd be suprised at how few copies our favorite classic titles sold.
  17. http://www.ringtonejukebox.com/realtonelis...&CategoryID=686 ALLIGATOR BOOGALOO? CHITLINS CON CARNE? COOL STRUTTIN'?? this is worse than the fake blue note credit card scam of a few yrs back
  18. i would rather have don rickles give me a cincinatti bow tie than get a BLUE NOTE "ringtone". just another blue note company blunder. they are trying to cash in on the poplar ringtone market that is mostly the black eyed peas, etc.
  19. what u say chuck nessa: the 1st playboy fest was the Bean Machine and Rollins/grimes/laroca trio and not chuck mangieoinie. whoaaaaaa
  20. chewy-chew-chew here 2 respectively NO disrespectivly disagree. all grant is good. he didnt flub up on jan jan. jan jan is just as fun to listen to as SOLID or Goin West' or any of the other grant albums. he never band a crappy record. grant is one of the most diverse BN artists as has been noted here- you are just spewing the same kind of crap people say about donald byrd, "oh his 70s stuff is so trite compared to free form blah blah fucking blah" get over it soul-brother: life continues beyond 1970........
  21. hey everyone chewy-chew-chew here: I usually not one to critizitize suns teachings in any way shape or form but i am pissed at sun for all this gilmoure stuff. sun treated gilmore like roger treated gilmour. if that makes sense. DID SUN THINK IT WOULD NEGATIETIVLY AFFECT THE BALENCE OF SPACE 2 ALLOW JOHN GILMORE 2 PLAY IN A CONTEXT OUTSIDE THE ARKESTRA. it must of been something like that....
  22. u know don and walt from the steely would fit right at home here on the orgasmissimo chat board- they are just as nuts as all of you are about blue note and the warne and stuff like that. has anyone seen them this year yet. ive heard the new setlist has NO stuff from their last cd, 2003's everything must go, a favorite of mine. i am particular looking forward to seeing the steely/michael mcdonald reunion but ive heard he doesnt sing lead w/ them like he did in the 70s and its only for the end of the set, not the whole show. the 1 thing chewy-chew-chew is not looking fwd to is mingling w/ the steely fans beacuse the fans have all became the songs, if you know what i mean. ill never forget this one steely dan yuppie at the pre show party w/ his foot long margarita trying 2 hit on my young lady-friend whilst yapping about how we all need to start "401-K" plans.
