  1. has this ever been on cd overseas, cause i certainly dont think its been issued here ever. how many people vote for this to be reissued. i think its highly underrated and would make for a good reissue
  2. hey goldberg u just gave me a really good thread idea- see reissues!!!!!!!!!
  3. YOYOYOYO ius that turrentine on cd or lp at all? w/ the duke on organ? doing look of love? is that released any way. thats radical
  4. you mean they just put more lows on the left side and more highs on the right? is that what you mean
  5. was it followed by a short 15min. set of George Benson + the CTI Allstars
  6. how are those fake-stereo lps done anyway? how do they alter the mono?
  7. dont be so high and might aggie i dont need to give more money to the people that screwed coltrane over his entire live. and besides the dude i got it from got someone of equal coolness from me and everyone is happy. dont shove your holy jazz philosophy down my gullet
  8. why is that yusefs best? even better than live at peps vol2? whos on it, what songs does he do?
  9. wiat wait so its gonna be a dvd of L.M + Benny Golson- thats AWESOME. you know what i had my friend tell B.G backstage at the hOllywood bowl @ playboy jazz fest this in june??? a few days before i had him SWEAR he would tell benny: "my friend said i sholud tell u that this year for the playboy jazz fest, this year the playboy jazz festival should just be three days of Benny". and he told him and B.G. said: haha
  10. no it isnt cause chewys makin more sense than ever here blue-train. let chewy's enlighten you: Coltrane new box--> SMALL AND BAD. Coltrane old box-->BIG AND GOOD. Thats the jist of it. thats all there is to that.
  11. really cause chewy-chew-chew heard that it was really italian street thugs who beat him up after the concert and threw his horn down a cliff
  12. is the original patches just as funky? which is the orginal/famous version again now?
  13. as a mater fact i do have it on cdr- but the dude did facimile copies of the box cover on each label (in colour) and it looks really cool!
  14. so blue note gave permisson for this company to remaster the orginal mono master tapes, is that correct?
  15. THAT IS COOL HE WORKED FOR THE TELEPHONE CO.: did he ever see one of those special phone synthesizeres they used to sell in the 50s that could program a sequence that changed the voltage of your ring so that the ring can play a little song? They were invented and made by Raymond Scott.
  16. great. so concord just CASTARATED the Coltrane Box set. Bravo. What's their reasoning? THAT ANYONE WHO DOESN'T ALRADY HAVE THE COLTRANE BOX AT THIS POINT IN TIME (2006) IS TO YOUNG TO REALLY KNOW ABOUT JAZZ AND THUS DONT DESERVE THE TRANE BOX IN THE 1st PLACE?!??!?
  17. i dont know either i prefer mono #1 except in certain instances in rock/pop where it sounds better in quad
  18. u are all nuts. coltrane box is essential. it should never go out of print. no they should not split it up. its a nice handy package. yeah its intense, but SO IS THE FACT COLTRANE RECORDED SO MANY DAMN ALBUMS. the one thing i dont like is the over 200 dollar list. if u cant handle the box i say you cant handle coltrane. this after all is BY ALL MEANS coltranes CARREER HIGHLIGHT, this box. this is is most accomplished bebop work. his later impulse stuff does not impress me nearly as much. that stuff is ok, and different, w/ his famous quartet, but the true cutting edge bop solos of his prestige era,is is the true meat and potatoes of any coltrane collection.
  19. can someone help me recall what the last alfred session was, and what the 1st frank session was?? im guessing 1966 sometime>?!?
  20. has this ever been noted, if so can you please discuss? inquring minds want to know....
  21. hi vibes, chewy-chew-chew-benitez signin' on here: you don't know me very well, do you vibes? im not gettin SACD. If i want surrround im going to go Quad, which i can't do till i find a nice vintage rug to cover the floor where the wires will run under to put speakers in the back. you should see what my friend doug did- syncing 7 hi-fi's together in his basement (each w/ 7 osciciloscopes on top). it sounds amazing
  22. The format of the audio disc, known as the "Red Book" standard, was laid out by Sony and Philips in 1981. The format is a two-channel 16-bit PCM encoding at a 44.1 kHz sampling rate. Four-channel sound is an allowed option within the Red Book format, but has never been implemented.
