tkeith; I found Curtis Clark "Dreams Deferred" on spotify. Very nice album. I think I liked the trio tracks best. I found "Ballad of the Fallen" on my bookshelf. Also a very nice album.

You obviously know that your ID is correct. Your opinion too. : 0 ) I am a fan of Marilyn Crispell but I've never heard that CD.
-
You know more about the tune than I do.
-
HP, nice story. Of coarse, your Burrell ID is correct all around. I really agree with Kristoff on this one. Track is Paul Bley. A last minute addition, I thought I needed a little brass and Mr. Bley had just passed.

Interesting reveal. Thanks. I am one who will be checking out Jerzy Milian. Also, I thought I would always be able to pick out Eberhard Weber. I need to listen to that track a little closer I guess.
-
Well, that didn't take long. Actually, I thought this might have been one of the tougher IDs. Roberto Ottaviano is one of my "new to me" obsessions of the last year or so. Hopefully you can find some rhythm sections you like on some of the other tracks. Not all of coarse.

Here is the link for BFT download and streaming provided by Thom. Thanks again. Hopefully you all can find something you enjoy. Any problems, let me know and I will get Thom to fix it. : 0 ) http://thomkeith.com/BFT/bft143.html

Just tried out Bandcamp to purchase "L'Atelier Tampon Ramier, September 2007 (Sans Bruit). Worked pretty easily.

I don't mean to step on the current blindfold test (I'm still listening) but I wanted to give warning that I am doing the Feb. edition. I think there are some gimmes but also hopefully some things you haven't heard. I will put the download link (thank you very much Thom Keith) in the comment thread as has been recent practice. Give it a try. Thank you.

Went used record store diving today for the first time in many, many years. Glad I did, nice record.

Good advice. I just can't believe all the great music I've missed over the years.
-
I swear that I have lived under a rock. Masahiko Togashi is another artist I have only recently become aware of. Of coarse most of his stuff is OOP I think and crazy expensive.
-
Only one listen through but I am pretty sure I won't be identifying anything once again. A couple tracks do sound familiar though. The vibes player on track 8 has an interesting sound. I would like to hear him/her is a smaller group setting without the orchestra, which to me kind of gets in the way. Looking forward to an ID on this one.

You are pretty quick on the trigger tonight. : 0 ) "Work Song" of coarse. I'm not good with labels but I probably wouldn't put this in the jazz section of my record collection. I certainly wouldn't say it is out of place on a BFT though. Even though I didn't recognize them I am happy that I said I liked Barron and Maupin, a couple of favorites for me.

A good BFT makes the morning at the gym go down a whole lot easier. Not my normal listening so no ID's here. I will say that you have pretty good taste in music though. One blanket statement, there is some good piano playing throughout. My favorite track is 08. One of the nice piano solos here. Enjoyed the horns as well. Well shoot, I should just say I like it all. I kind of got into 11 too. A different take on a classic song. My problem is that I can't name that tune for the life of me. Getting old. Butterfield is the only name I can come up with for this stuff but that is probably too obvious. Don't have much but I am enjoying listening to your effort. Thanks very much.

I am going to say thank you for all sections of the BFT here. Outside of the Teddy Charles album, everything was new to me. I hadn't listened to that one for a long time. Very nice album. This section and the Moldy Fig were my favorites. Sadly, it appears that the Spontaneous Music Ensemble album is not readily available. : 0 ( Any other SME albums that you could point me too? I can't believe that I have never checked this music out. The beauty of the BFT is finding new things. Of coarse, that is also the curse. Thanks very much for your effort.

The second thing on your BFT that really grabbed me right off is track 4 in this section. I can't come up with good enough words to describe it. Haunting maybe? I am going to try figure this one out because some of the players do sound familiar but you could also just go ahead and ID it now.

Thanks and I am totally receptive to "free jazz" style.

As an overall comment, 22 tracks are for me a normally little overwhelming but dividing them up into 4 sections seems easier to manage. Only one quick listen but two tracks really jumped out at me. One is track 2 in this section. Great sounding clarinet, I love the piano solo and piano in general, nice tune. So, tell me that there is a whole album out there by this group and that it isn't hopelessly OOP.

Thanks again for the listen. I am looking into a couple of the tracks you presented but do you have any other recommendations for Max Nagl and Michel Portal?
-
It is already the end of the month. I always have a lot of fun with these BFTs but I am really bad at the comments part. Sorry. Outside of track 10 (kind of scary to me), I enjoyed hearing everything you presented. I ENJOYED several tracks. I will have more things for my never ending “have to find out more about this” list. Some highlights: Track 02 reminds me of one of those ECM piano trios. That is a good thing by me. I love the drummer (cymbaler?). Track 09 is pretty interesting to me. Some different instrumentation that goes in different directions in a short time. Track 11 is another nice piece that says l lot in a short time frame. Track 14 is probably my favorite and the one thing that sounds a little familiar. Definitely the kind of stuff I like to listen to. Thanks very much for putting this together. On to the other comments to see what has been ID'd.

I would like to be included, please. Thank you.

MG, I am embarrassed chipping in this late. I listened to your BFT quite a bit and started comments several times during the month of the BFT but came up with nothing. I am not good at writing in the first place but as it turns out, I have not heard most of the artists and actually have not even hear OF a number. That is, of coarse, what I like in a BFT but I know as a presenter you are looking for feedback. Sorry I let you down on that. I do want to thank you for your effort. I enjoyed listening.
