Well, i'm back from cleveland. Checked both alternative newspapers--a jazz desert. nuthin. Went to the Exchange in Parma Heights and found Lee Morgan's Sixth Sense" for $7.00 Went to the cd exchange in cleveland and found Greg Osby's first for $2.99 Oh, and it snowed Friday night! All in all, a good time was had by all.

Even though i consider myself to be reasonably intelligent, i can't make heads or tails of this thread. I trust that i am not alone. I conclude that the "truth" is one of the following: a) there is some serious alcohol or substance use involved here; B) the thread is a written manifestation of some sort of mental illness; c) this is akin to the old "no soap, radio" joke; d) there really is a "generation gap"; or e) i have entered the "matrix"

Rashaan is incredible and IMHO never got the credit that he deserved. I am trying to obtain everything he ever recorded . . and i'm well on my way. If only i had a complete discography to use as a checklist. . . . i also have his biography "bright moments" which i haven't started yet. so much to do, so little time!

Just heard the other night (on letterman) Joss Stone. She sang a song called "Fell in love with a boy." and sounded a whole lot like Janis Joplin. The song was GREAT!! Anybody know anything about Joss? Before I buy the cd has anybody checked it out? How is the rest of the cd? B)
