Just saw a great documentary about her life, a lot of great footage, with interviews of the lady set in different eras. What impressed me the most besides of course her outstanding singing skills was her attitude. Even in old age, she didn't act like a quiet old lady, she in a way had more machismo than most man ever had. Really an iron hand in a velvet glove

This PPV, right? Then I'm not watching it, as I certainly am not paying $50 and no one else I really know well gives a crap about the sport. Sad, really. I'll bet on Marquez, just because he seems to hit harder. Pacquiao is by the way the harder hitter, anyway boxing has unfortunately gone completely the PPV way and is extinct from network tv. Only HBO and Showtime carry important boxing card nowadays. One way to reduce the costs is to go to a sports bar where they will make you pay for an entrance fee, in my place it's five bucks plus drinks and food. Those who elected to find a way to watch it saw a beautiful and exciting fight.

Anybody will be watching this big fight, tell us how you're going to watch it, home with friends, at the bar etc. Any predictions ? I'll take the plunge think that Pacquiao will win it , Marquez has changed his style for a more offensive oriented one, he punches more but hit a lot more also which i fear is because he may have been slipping a little. He may prove me wrong but i don't think it will work against Pac Man. Pacquiao on the other hand seems to have improved his boxing skills and has showed more patience and versatility against Barrera that he was lacking in his first fight against Marquez. For those who did not see the 1st fight, Pacquiao almost stopped Marquez in the 1st round knocking him down three times. Marquez managed to survive and as the fight progressed he used his superlative boxing skills to neutralize Pacquiao's buzzsaw approach. The fight went to the cards and the 3 judges agreed to disagree as one had it for Marquez, one for Pacquiao and the last one a draw. 4 years later, thanks to dumb boxing politics, they finally meet for the rematch.

After going through to the earlier sets where there was a lot of discovery and musical styles that i never paid much attention to, i'm now listening to artists that i'm way more familiar and accustomed to hear. I have a thing for well thought out compilations and this is one of them. There is something exciting when you see that the compiler has taken the time to carefully the pieces and put them together to make a grand ensemble. Listening pleasure guaranteed with entertaining pieces from the beginning to the end. A nice complement to the other great series Les Trésors du Jazz that i strongly recommend also.

Recently picked up a french that talked about their alleged 100 best comic strips (bande dessinnée in french) although i prefer the expression graphic novel, which sounds more adult oriented. Anyway, among the three top titles mentionned were Jimmy Corrigan by Chris Ware , Maus by Art Spiegelman and Les Bijoux de la Castafiore by Hergé. Gotta say, the reading of the mag made me think of starting shopping for more of that stuff. I already own and enjoyed Maus, read about all the Tintin when i was a kid, so i'd like to know if anybody else has other suggestions, what they like, place where you pick up great stuff, etc.
