  1. I don't feel good
  2. Like lush arrangements a liitle bit like The Divine Comedy. Here's something you might like. Here 's a singer-writer-composer from Quebec that sounds nothing like the awful noise coming out of Céline Dion. You can listen to some excepts of his latest CD on this website. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea...iendid=82281739 http://www.postedecoute.ca/catalogue/album/33995 http://www.pierrelapointe.fr/
  3. On the Art Pepper recordings at the Village Vanguard, we hear him telling to the audience that he has recordings to sell in the place.
  4. How about the awful musak version we sometimes hear in malls.
  5. When are they gonna remaster the Beatles originals CDs, considering we are already through the 4th generation of Elvis Costello CDs. Seems a new generation is not too much to ask.
  6. It means that the people who are posting are so insightful and entertaining that most people are so awed by our sheer brilliance that they rather not disrupt the perfect order of things by adding their banal comments besides the pure geniuses that do write here.
  7. Totally agree with you, the live show was amazing .
  8. She should send to you the Buddy Rich set, and the two other ones to me. I'll PM you my address, thank your mom for me
  9. Yep in his last movie.
  10. Welcome to my world, only difference is that except for the odd mosaic order, most of my finds are bought from cd stores in my area.
  11. One of the greatest actors coming out of France, Philippe Noiret passed away this week. Source BBC News French actor Philippe Noiret dies Philippe Noiret was adored in his home country and beyond French film star Philippe Noiret, one of the most popular and prolific actors of his generation, has died at the age of 76. Noiret, who made more than 125 films in a career spanning over half a century, died after battling cancer. Famed for his flexibility, he was able to play roles as diverse as haughty aristocrats and middle-class men. Among his most famous films was Cinema Paradiso, in which he played a village projectionist. Other memorable roles included the exiled Chilean poet Pablo Neruda in Il Postino (The Postman) and a middle-aged glutton in La Grande Bouffe (Blow Out). Panache Noiret moved from the stage to the screen, helping to shape the French cinema of the 1960s. His portrayal of an unhappy uncle in Zazie dans le Metro (Zazie on the Metro) made his name. Over the years he worked with all of France's top directors Known as a workaholic, Noiret considered every role a test. "What's difficult is not doing something, it's redoing it," he once said of his art. French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin said the worlds of theatre and film had been suddenly orphaned by Noiret's death. "Through his voice, his allure, his panache, Philippe Noiret knew how to seize and express something within the French soul," he said. "The silhouette and the voice, so tender and familiar, will be missed by all," he added. He was a guy that had the range to do popular cinema and more artsy stuff and never look out of place. With him gone , the most accomplished french actor living become that unsuffering overwhelming ham that is Depardieu.
  12. Too bad, cause the music is great, it't about the only redeeming feature of that movie.
  13. Besides The Marseillaise, the old Russian anthem would give you goos bumps. Although it doienn't sound mucch like a national anthem i always enjoyed listening to the Italian national anthem. In a related subject how about the best rendition of a national anthem. As a old Hab fan, my vote goes to the late Forum singer Roger Doucet, man that guy could burst a tune.
  14. My favourites were Short Cuts, The player and just saw last weekend his last hurrah, a prairie home companion. I'll miss him a lot.
  15. 25-12 BC, the Als had a scoring chance but they fumbled the ball near the goal line. Not a great year for pro teams in Montreal.
  16. Colts defense against the run is pathetic. Loved the way Cowboys defense kept pressuring Manning, never was at ease all game long. That meant that the fu..... assh.... of the 1972 edition of the Dolphins are celebrating, god i hate these pricks.
  17. Cleopatra Jones Foxy Brown Superfly
  18. Eric Morales Manny Pacquiao Marco Antonio Barrera Great fight between the first two guys, tonight.
  19. Kent Nillson Borje Salming Inge Hammarstrom
  20. As much as a jazz fan it is great to be in Montreal during the summer. With the Suoni per il popolo, the off-jazz festival and jazz festival. Can't'say that the rest of the year really offers us something to put our teeth in. The Jazz Festival is supposed to do a series of Jazz à l'année (Jazz all year long) but most of the time, there is little real jazz. And when it is, it's mostly the same people we saw during previous festivals. So i gotta say, i'm little more excited this year whith the shows that will be going on this winter. February the 22nd Oregon Presently consisting of Ralph Towner, Paul McCandless, Glen Moore and Paquito D’Rivera, this legendary band, formed in the ‘60s in the state whose name it bears, made its reputation with original and varied instrumentation and a brand of jazz as influenced by world music as european and american standards. Original and incomparable! February the 28th Roy Hargrove Quintet Roy Hargrove and his quintet haven’t graced us with their presence since the 2001 edition of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal. Recognized as one of the finest improvisational trumpeters extant, this ambassador of the new York jazz scene returns to bewitch us with his soulful jazz. Unmissable! And March the 1st Chris Potter’s Underground A familiar face at the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, this excellent saxophonist from New York can’t resist a musical adventure. Forever pushing the musical envelope with his quartet, Potter’s emotionally-charged aesthetic descends from the magisterial lineage of Coltrane and Rollins. Can't wait
  21. Saw that trio live, this summer. This was something to remember.
  22. Locally Michel Donato is easy to recognize. Cyrus Chessnutt, Pat Metheny have very distinctive features also.
  23. Poor defense and when Chargers started hitting, Bengals became kittens.
  24. Bought this CD from him. http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&a...10:qtf5zfioeh6k Loved especially the second cd, especially the cuts with Lou Mecca.
