  1. I'd think not, but who knows? Did it get a crown from Penguin?
  2. It's intellectually lazy. And calm down, babycakes. I'm the wrong person to try to beat into submissions using aggressive language. I practically invented that skill set. Besides, if it didn't matter so much you wouldn't be getting so fired up about it.
  3. Right, I'm the one posting the eye rolls, and I'm the one with a fucking problem. Sorry, I'm a little too wise to the game to simply convict somebody due to media reports. I served several years in juvenile hall, and then juvenile prison. I also turned 18 in an adult state prison.
  4. Yeah, that video showed it was digitally edited. The person climbed to the top and suddenly rounded the corner 10 feet lower than they supposedly entered it? Nice effort, though. Been seeing it on FB quite a bit.
  5. I was once convicted of a crime I didn't commit. I was only 13 years old. Shit scarred me for life. So yes, I militantly insist everyone has their day in court. No exceptions.
  6. Innocent until proven guilty is still the law of the land as far as I know. While things don't look to be in his favor he can't simply be tried, convicted, and sentenced by the media.
  7. Boy, I'll say! Now I feel like I over-payed!!
  8. Lon, you don't think a limited pressing of, say, 500 wouldn't sell quickly?
  9. I respect it, and enjoy listening to it. But, I wouldn't consider it a "must listen". Give me the Africa/Brass Coltrane set any day of the week.
  10. Full disclosure: I had to hear Kind Of Blue at least ten times before I actually "got it". But when I did, oh boy!!!! Ton of bricks! The PN set came WELL after that. I like both, but KoB still remains firmly ingrained...
  11. Don't worry, brother. It's not like I have some kind of perfect track record when it comes to properly interpreting what people say... You're probably right, but it amazes me they could ignore what that box set is going for second hand! I got mine from B & N a few moons ago for $115. They could drop it right now for $175 a pop and sell the entire pressing out.
  12. erwbol, I said it jokingly. If I didn't trust the cat, I'd have never lent the set to him. C'mon...
  13. Oh, I wouldn't part with my set unless some body offered mega bucks.
  14. I've seen it go on eBay for as much as $800! Usually goes for far less, but I recently let my fellow Jazz fan at work borrow my set and warned him not to try to sell it because I knew where he worked!
  15. I seriously doubt the Pats would have cut him for obstruction of justice.
  16. Aaron Hernandez has been arrested, as well as cut from the Patriots. That's one potential Hall of Fame career flushed down the shitter post-haste.
  17. My most desired pairing that never was would be Thelonious Monk and Eric Dolphy. I think they were absolutely perfect for each other musically speaking.
  18. Is this still in print, Steve?
  19. I'd say Deerhead, Standards In Norway, or Tokyo '96 would all be great places to start, Craig. Whisper Not being a great option to switch out with one of the above.
  20. Yep, there's no question he's often buried in the mix. Which is quite a feat when it's only a trio! I've not yet heard Somewhere, so please share your impressions of it when you get the chance.
  21. What do any of them bring to the music? Are you implying you don't think Peacock is talented?
  22. Crap!!! Forgot all about it. Will try to catch it tonight.
  23. Happy B-Day, brother!!!
  24. We Can't Dance is an outstanding album. The two extended pieces, Driving The Last Spike and Fading Lights, may be two of their very best.
  25. Nah, I don't agree with that at all, especially concerning The Wall. Now, I'll grant that things got rather iffy with the band as a whole after Animals, but The Wall is still solidly a shared effort between Waters and Gilmour. It could be argued that Comfortably Numb is the most famous PF tune of all time. With two of Gilmour's most beautiful solos. IIRC, either Mason or Wright had essentially left the band at the time, so that helps your argument. But, as with the "there was no real Pink Floyd after Barrett left" crowd, the arguments of a fragmented timeline just don't work for me. Pink Floyd started with Pipers and ended with Cut. Period. Now, I'll grant you Cut essentially was a solo Waters album, but it was still Pink Floyd, for better or worse. No Wright, hardly any Mason (IIRC), many of the guitar parts played by musicians other than Gilmour (who only sang on Not Now John), etc... At the end of the day, I fully understand what you're saying, I just disagree. Or as Dave belted out at the end, "Fuck all that, we've got to get on with these!!!"
