  2. Jazzmoose- Yes, I read that- I would go with the "Gold Community" to eliminate the ads- I'm doing this gratis for the class so I guess they're stuck with whatever I do, unless people want to donate..... Thanks for the advice!
  3. Glad you have faith in me!! Love the Avatar! I thought I was going to see the cat in all parts of the world.....I know it's your Avatar's halloween costume but I can't wait to see where he'll end up next......
  4. Thanks AfricaBrass! IPB is free for unlimited trial run but you don't get support for it etc. The UBB is the same I guess- I don't trust my computer literacy for installing- How difficult do you think it is for installing phpbb?? They are free.....
  5. I have a web site set up and want a simple and cheap community bulletin board to link to. It's for my high school class so there won't be much activity until we get closer to our 25th reunion next year. EZBOARD seems to be the cheapest but don't know much about it. I like the features of this board alot, but hosting is $10.00/month and I can't afford it long term. I was going to host with godaddy.com but open to suggestions. Opinions??
  6. My little girl is going as a bumblebee...she has a little stinger on the back and she turns around and backs into people with it, singing "I'm picking up a baby bumblebee....." We're going to a mall- we live in a rural area where homes are far apart- nearest neighbor is 3/10 mile away, and we have a 300 foot driveway uphill......safe to say no one will come by..... Everyone have a safe halloween!
  7. I can't seem to get an image to post.... I had a Lance Link, Secret Chimp lunchbox.......I used to watch that religiously on Saturdays.....I thought that was the greatest show....from 1970 I guess....Nick at Nite played a few of them last year.....They'll make their way to DVD soon enough.... Anyone else watched it?
  8. Dang!! Where is my image? Have to repost......
  9. No one, and I MEAN NO ONE had a cooler lunchbox than me:
  10. Wow I hope everyone is ok- it's so sad to see the calamities that is occurring. Fires on the west coast- hurricane on the east coast. Makes me appreciate all I have and how lucky I am with my life. I hope others feel the same way. Be safe-
  11. Yes, I meant posting a message on the scoreboard.....The person I talked to didn't remember seeing a congratulatory message to the Marlins- now I'm going from what he saw, or didn't see.....but I would expect something stating "Marlins- 2003 World Series Champions" or something to that effect. I hope someone can refute me because that woulld be in poor taste if the Yankees didn't acknowledge the Marlins.
  12. I'm glad the Marlins won- I'm an NL guy who always roots for the NL. While the Marlins were celebrating on the field, I kept on hearing New York, New York by Frank Sinatra, and I didn't hear any applause from the Yankees fans for the Marlins- they played a great series. And from someone who was at the game- there was no script on the message board congratulating the Marlins being 2003 World Series champions. Classless act by the Yankees
  13. I used to have a neighbor (we moved) who did this exclusively. He would go to places such as Lowes, Target, grocery stores and "troll" for potentials. He was an outgoing person and can overwhelm you if you let him. Some years ago he tried to get me to a meeting- I said I wasn't interested in Scamway, uh, I mean Amway....he got the hint and left me alone. He had meetings periodically at his house and it was interesting to see the type of people who arrived. About 6 years ago, there was an East Coast meeting for Amway associates here in Richmond- about 12,000 people....I never saw so many ugly suits in my life! Great time to people watch......
  14. Those are my thoughts (actually worse) but I didn't want to offend anyone.
  15. Someone wanted me to come to a "meeting" and learn to be my own boss.......I declined knowing what I know.......I'll be polite. Anyone try this? Anyone sell Amway?
  16. That's the guy!!! He's on Comedy Central, right?? Didn't 60 minutes or something similar do an expose on him- they looked in the dumpster behind his office and found all sorts of letters, handprints and other personal items from people wanting their wishes granted- but no money. Amazing what people will believe.
  17. Show me the Money!! Wonder what happened to all the religious preachers who wanted people to send them money so they can be personally prayed for.....the one that said to send a copy of your hand and $100.00 and he will place his hand on yours.....the one who wanted money for his Ministry.......you know- the Sunday morning ones on TV and a few Saturday mornings mixed in..... oh wait...they're all in JAIL....
  18. I believe the Nat King Cole and the Ellington Reprise were in the 10,000 limit. This looks like a good one....
  19. BERIGAN- I have an Earthlink email account and I get *tons* of spam. I'm going to change my email and disable the other- I'll see how that works. It's ridiculous the amount of garbage I'm getting. Big Wheel: I had the same thing a year ago- I reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled everything. I have a Compaq that I bought in 1999 and it comes with a disc which will return the hard drive to factory condition. It's a pain to do and takes lots of time, but to me it's worth it.
  20. I guess if you look hard enough, you can put asterisks on practically anything: new stadiums are smaller, pitching is watered down due to expansion, lowering of the pitchers mound in 1968, Gaylord Perry loading the ball up, I don't believe in the asterisks approach, and if it is proved that Bonds and Sosa used some sort of performance enhancing elixir then everything should remain the same. As long as the players association remains the way it is, then nothing will be done.....and baseball gets a real commissioner, who's totally objective.
  21. I think that minor league players are willing to take the risk of using steroids to get to the major league level, and continue to use it to stay there. Once you have that great year, then it's guaranteed contract time, baby! Brady Anderson hitting 50 home runs?? C'mon!! I think Javy Lopez got huge this year, compared to previous years.......last year of his contract, free agent next year, had some lousy seasons that past few years, Johnny Estrada knocking on the door...... coincidence? Did anyone break 50 home runs this year?? Did MLB state they would do random drug testing this year? Sosa had 60+ HRs for 3 straight years.... Corked bat allows you to increase your swing speed to hit the ball father, since the bat is lighter.....I'm still surprised that people resort to it, because it doesn't make the ball go farther- read the Physics of Baseball by Adair.
