  1. Mine is up on Ebay so you have a chance to get it for less than a new set.
  2. Or....... How about the Jimmy Smith Mosaic at $265.00 with 2 days to go??!!! Talk about striking when the iron is hot.....
  3. Dmitry- I bubblewrap them twice, then cut strips of bubble wrap to be placed on the corners, then I get heavy duty brown paper and wrap it like a gift, then do it again. I take heavy clear tape and wrap the corners and sides. I'll make labels for addresses and place clear tape over them. Very well protected! Mailing of the sets range around $19.00-$21.00 airmail parcel post, average of 7 days.
  4. I've recently been selling some Mosaics and other box sets on Ebay and in all but a few instances, the buyers were from Europe. I've sold sets to people in Portugal, Spain, Germany, France and Italy. I'm glad that these people can buy the Mosaics and payment and shipping hasn't been a problem (so far!) except for one guy from Italy who didn't know Paypal- but that is straightened out. They're happy with their purchase and I'm happy to sell to them. Anyway- I want to get people's comments on why I'm seeing an increase in purchasers from Europe. My idea is because the Euro is strong against the USD and US goods are cheaper. Anyone else have ideas? Mike
  5. Last call for this set- then it's off to Ebay.... I can't conclusively say it arrived with the scratch- it's been awhile and I don't want to blame Mosaic for it if I'm not sure. Thanks everyone-
  6. Numbered set, box and booklet in great shape. All 6 CDs in fine shape except #3 which has one large scratch on it. Doesn't affect play- in fact I'm playing the CD as I type this. Don't know how I did it- but it's there....come to think of it- I may have received it this way...... I listened to this set enough...... $90.00 delivered to your US based door (USPS priority/insurance/delivery confirmation). If you live somewhere else- we'll figure something out. Please use the PM feature if interested. Thanks for looking! Mike
  7. Wow- haven't checked it in a while..... any promotional codes that will get a discount on purchases?? I have most of DPs up through 24.
  8. Jim- Starting in late fall, American Robins tend to fly south for the winter. Most will be seen in the southern states and Mexico. They collect in large flocks and go to communal roosts at night. I say "tend to" since Robins don't fly to central America or South America, like other birds such as hummingbirds or Tanagers, or Towhees, rather they will hang in the southern states where the climate is more temperate- TX being one. Here in VA, I may see the odd Robin in the winter months but starting a few weeks ago through April I'll have large flocks come through- it's quite a site. Then they start pairing off for the breeding season. Conversely, I see Juncos at my feeder every day- they are wintering in my back yard and will leave for their summer breeding home in the Arctic and northern Canada- when they are gone, I know spring is right around the corner. Mike
  9. Antique telephones- mostly Western Electric (some Automatic Electric and Kellogg).....candlesticks, 102s, 202s, 302s, 500s (in all the different colors c. 1960) wall phones, subsets........ Il clean and rewire them- and use them periodically. Anyone else collect telephones?
  10. Luckily in VA we don't have that......but we may in 2008......an ex-gov, George Allen may run for the republicans.......he's a major posterior's orifice....... And now back to "what you do for a living"..... Next??
  11. A state employee of Virginia- I inspect gasoline stations for compliance with air, water and waste regulations. I also do after-hours pollution response on a rotational basis; I'll be the State on-scene coordinator for spills in waterways, fish kills, and other environmental problems. I actually enjoy my job!
  12. Quote from TedR: I can appreciate that other people have successfully used it. But what i find funny is that I seem to have problems with my browser application ONLY at this one website, never at any others. In theory their site couldn't be simpler to use, but I'm blocked at every turn EXCEPT when my credit card information was processed. They got that communique....and they responded with a confirmation. My security settings were the same when I tried to order and send questions as when my credit card information and e-mail address were entered. They got my cc and personal info (no problems with my browser app then evidently)........now they just don't take my orders or see my followup comments. TedR- Same this happened to me- look back around page 1 or 2 of the thread (I believe). I ordered off another computer and no problem....BUT it doesn't like mine!! I tried everything I can think of....clear cache, turn off firewall, set special acceptance for cookies from this site- to no avail. I did get the Seven Steps and I'm pleased with it!
  13. Thank you everyone!!!! Had the day off.......spent it working on my antique telephones- rewiring a few- a new fixation of mine......listened to Seven Steps to Heaven, watched "1941" the Spielberg movie and just hanging out.......very cold here (currently 19 degrees) so was chopping firewood today and readying for the single digit temperatures this evening...the wood stove is working well this evening!!! Mike
  14. I signed up- now I get the please enable cookies error message- no matter what I do- I still receive this. Plus- I used the contact us section of the website and it doesn't work also... Thoughts?
  15. You know- if you stare at the picture for about 20 seconds-it starts looking like a snake or some sort of hideous monster........ I remember it as a kid on WPIX- my Dad had it on in my house since we were fireplaced challenged.... I remember a video selling on Ebay for $10.00. I have my wood stove going this evening so that's our yule log......I should tape that....anyone want a copy??
  16. Thanks for all your responses!! I emailed Mosaic- here is their response: "The 4th CD of the Jacquet set was licensed from BMG and per the contract their imprint appears on the CD pressing." Again- I don't care what they put on the CD- the music is where it's at, but to the uninformed purchaser- I guess he wants to make sure everything is legit- that's fine by me. Mosaic is such a wonderful company.......I wish more companies were like them, with respect to customer service! Everyone be safe the next few weeks!! Thank you again- Mike
  17. Happy Holidays!! I sold a Jacquet set on Ebay and the buyer received the set and asked this question: "A question though,in your offer you state they were bought directly from Mosaic, however, the number four cd is stamped BMG Direct. How is that. Thanks." Now I noticed this when I received the set but didn't pay it no mind..... Can anyone shed light on this?? Are your sets like this? Thanks!! Mike
  18. ok.... after sending him instructions on using paypal and sending another invoice- he's still confused...... so.....porcy62: can you help me with this?? I was wondering if you can share your perspectives with this guy of using paypal. I want to sell the set to him and will give him every opportunity to purchase it. I will PM you with his name and address- I'll do it tomorrow- since it's late for me. I hope you can do this- Thanks for considering and your generous offer!! Regards- Mike
  19. Thank you everyone for your comments! I wanted to give the buyer an answer, with the perspective of understanding what he has to deal with. I will send him an email requesting him to open a paypal account, then he can pay me. I sent him an invoice from paypal and I copied myself- and it arrived in Italian. Again- thank you so much for your help! I'll update this thread as I find out info. Be safe- Mike
  20. Hello All- I sold a box set on Ebay and the winning bidder is from Italy. No problem for me. This is the first thing the buyer has bought outside of Italy. I sent him a receipt from paypal with a total in USD and requested that he pay me with paypal. He sent an email back asking this: ____________ 1) I need a serial number of your paypal for the transfer of money? 2) I have a postpay, it's all right? ____________ I don't know what the above questions mean..... I'm working with him the best I can but I think we're at a standstill. I want to send the set to him and will work as long as I need to to complete this transaction. Can someone (preferrably from Italy) suggest a course of action for the buyer to pay me? I'm somewhat ignorant of payment choices from countries other than the US and I'd like to learn. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Mike
  21. I'd like to have some of the Frank Sinatra ones. I have a Victrola and I play 78s on occasion. Can you PM me and tell me what you have? Thanks!!
  22. Old telephones, preferably Western Electric, with some Kellogg, Automatic Electric and Stromberg Carlsons. From wooden wall phones to candlesticks, to desk sets. I find them at auctions and flea markets, clean and rewire them, and there they sit in my home. Most work- I installed a modular plug on them. A few I have plugged in around the house and I switch them out every now and then to get a different look. Some I've given away to family and friends. I have a few old radios: A Truetone and a Zenith Tombstone with the Black Dial are among the collection.
  23. I took my annual sojurn to see Little Feat last week and was quite impressed with him- he was a surprise at the show. I have a soundboard recording of the show and I was listening to it and his interplay with the band including Bill Payne, Paul Barrere was great. Can anyone comment on Ron??
  24. Where would be the cheapest place to buy this?
