My newest purchase is a 1967 Ford F-100 pickup, 352ci, cruise-o-matic. 75k actual miles....bought off Ebay- great deals to be had there....came with a parts truck, also a 1967......moving some items from one to the other- then I'll sell the parts truck or part it out- not sure yet......weekend driving- registered as an antique. I live in the "country".....you need a truck in the country for hauling trash, etc..... Prices here in VA are through the roof for used trucks- unbelievable... Regular wheels is a 1995 Mazda 626 with 134k miles....wife drive a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan- great ride- bought it used - I'll never buy a new car again...

I'm going to be a daddy...
vajerzy replied to Jim Alfredson's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
Excellent! There's nothing quite like a little one looking at you and calling you Daddy! I missed the infant stage (because we adopted) but the toddler stage is wonderful- watching Annie grow and learn new things every day. Buy a video camera because you won't believe how fast they grow up. Keep a diary to record significant events. Better get your touring out of the way because you won't have time once the baby is born and besides, you won't want to be away!! -
Still researching this- I have Frontpage 98 and started to make a web page with it- it's so overwhelming with all the domain registration and web hosting companies out there-
-
Ah wel........maybe next time...... The seller will probably do well with the ones that have bids- just have to wait a little while longer.....
-
As a followup- ICDSoft will install invision power board....... They sound like what I'm looking for- thanks Uncle Skid and B-3er for all the responses!
-
Thanks Mark- I have another domain I'd like to register- I emailed them a few questions and they responded back in 10 minutes...quite impressive! The new domain will be registered in my name, correct? And I can move it whenever I wish? I saw that register.com does charge $35.00/year to register They said they don't not have a forum but will install one upon request. I'll look into different ones.

Indeed sad- I had the pleasure to see him numerous times, starting in 1979 up to 1992 or so....saw him with the band that appeared on "Stand In The Fire", at my college with about 100 people on the outside lawn, with a band called "The Odds" as a backup band, and a solo outing accompanied only bu Timothy Schmidt (of Eagles fame) and other times......he was a unique individual. The show with David Letterman last October was great- I hope they replay it again sometime-

B3-er- thanks for the info- Still researching this info- I like the site Uncle Skid mentioned- it got a nice review in various computer mags. I want to register another name- Uncle Skid and B-3er, did you use your web hosting companies, or move them from somewhere else (like register or godaddy?) Thanks for your info!

Waiting for the Boogaloo Sisters... RELEASED!
vajerzy replied to Jim Alfredson's topic in organissimo - The Band Discussion
Can I get a signed copy by the band? How do I go about doing that? -
Uncle Skid- thanks for the info- they seem very interesting.... How about placing a forum or bulletin board on my website- have you done that?
-
I want to start up a website for alumni from my high school class. I have a domain name already registered and I'd like to know where I can park it to have a website up and running. Any suggestions or recommendations? Also- any of you have suggestions for operating a bulletin board such as this one, except a more simplified version? My web experiences consist of building a web page using MS Frontpage 98, inporting images, etc. Nothing hard. Thanks!!

Holy cow- I can't keep up with new releases....I've been waiting for these! Plus The Dead's run at Red Rocks (5 shows) from their summer tour, new Dick's Picks, Bunny Berigan Mosaic.........who wants to give me money?? -
Feathers!! That's the guest bed you'll sleep in when you arrive for your visit ....100 year old quilt BTW..... I have an el-cheapo digital camera and that's the only way I can get everything in the picture without a lot of light reflection. aka- barlisw.....he's bought a number of Mosaics on Ebay in the past- I lost out to him a few times.......a nice guy from first impressions....

If I had to pick one set to keep and sell the others- it would be the Classic Capitol Jazz set.....(and the Nat King Cole set). I like the fact that I'm exposed to lots of artists I've never heard of- so I can go off in different tangents and find other works by those artists. There's so much variety in this set- I never tire of listening to it. I enjoy the multiple artists sets- the HRS set being another one!

yes- the Directv receivers have those credit card thingys in the back of them. I never mess with them and I think I'm the only one in my family who knows it's there. I see alot of Dish network dishes around here in central VA- don't know much about them except they don't have the local channels. Only complaint we have is that you don't get the local forecast on the 8s with the Weather Channel- but in the grand scheme of things it's doesn't warrant a blip!
-
Directv.... We moved into the "country" a few months ago and there is no cable where we are (our nearest neighbor is 4/10 mile away). We bought the two room setup with local stations: $39.99 + $4.99 for the second receiver, free installation and 1st 2 months free! First thing I noticed was how clear the picture was- it's way superior to the analog cable signal. Plenty of channels to choose from, including Discovery Wings, SciFi, BBC America, National Geographic and a few others that I didn't get with my previous cable. Your remote can be programmed for "favorite channels" for 4 people- so each person in our home has their own setup- including my 3.5 year old- PBSKids, ToonDisney,- all the kids shows. I lose the signal during heavy rain because the cloud cover and rain obscures the signal but that's few and far between. I think it's great and I've been very pleased with it.

Wonderful news! Isn't it amazing how a little babies are born? My wfe and I are the proud owners of a little girl who we adopted- we received the final adoption order from the judge a few days ago.....we've been doing foster care for her since 1/31/02 and now she's ours!. I hope her bio-mom gets her life together and someday when she's grown up both of them will meet......in this case, Annie and the bio-mom are better off.....she's not my biological offspring but I can imagine loving a child more than she..... We listen to jazz every night during "tubby".....tonight was the Bossa Nova Years by Stan Getz. Foster care is very rewarding (and very hard!)

That's funny! My wife likes Toby Keith- I call him "that pissed-off country singer" since he seems angry on all the songs I've heard..... I guess there's a reason why I see a lot of older Ford trucks than other makes.....
-
catesta- how come you don't recommend a Dodge? Have you had bad experiences with them? Here in Central VA, it's Ford country- seems every truck you see if a Ford. For older vehicles, I like the fact that I can work on them and don't need a computer to determine what is wrong with the engine
