  1. I sometimes photocopy them and throw them in to the box.
  2. IIRC they were on a Columbia (or a subsidiary) of the Hawkins and Young sessions. Don't see the one I had in the photos above. I think I traded it after the Mosaic came out. (There were no other Lester Young sessions on Signature were there? )
  3. The Signatures "led" by Welles are in one of the Mosaic Basie/Young sets.
  4. Did everyone but me already know about this? It's been up since July.
  5. Did everyone but me know Pesci was a singer: https://thebluemoment.com/ ?
  6. On Episode 6 of Watchmen there is a sequence that takes place in a club in an alternate history/universe 1938. On the wall there is a poster with a picture of a saxophone player and the name "Lester LeJeune". This may be the most subtle visual jazz joke I've ever seen. BTW the episode has a couple of nice Ink Spot cuts on the soundtrack.
  7. I think it was produced in 1969 so she would have been 23 or so.
  8. Footloose.
  9. Just came back from seeing The Skatalites. Not jazz but hang in there and you will find yourself dancing.
  10. From where is this available?
  11. I think I may enter the 21st Century and subscribe to a streaming service. Any opinions out there as to which service (Amazon, Apple, Spotify or any other) is the best for jazz?
  12. This is why I bought an electric car. (Not really, but it sure is quiet and the bass lines sound great. )
  13. I recommend Little Steven's Underground Garage.
  14. Reading it again I think I do know who killed Owen Taylor.
  15. I ordered it directly from Sleepy Night records https://www.sleepynight-shop.com/product/coming-soon-miles-davis-the-lost-quintet Took about a week to get here and because of shipping cost about $21.
  16. Popular? Maybe Morgan, but their last Mobley set took forever to sell out.
  17. Sanctuary is so long because the track includes I Fall in Love too Easily (or at least something that hints at it.).
  18. I've been pleasantly surprised. I knew so little about Herman that I didn't know I was going to hear some Ben Webster, Budd Johnson and Johnny Hodges on these cds.
  19. To confuse the issue even more: whenever I noticed references to Helen Morgan I thought of the torch singer from the '30s.
  20. I find the opposite. As I get older 5 years goes by in a flash. To crib from Douglas Adams: "Everything is recent since The Beatles Broke Up."
  21. And you can download it at Amazon. BTW I notice that some concerts by the lost quintet were recorded by ORTF so Sony could probably get tapes. The Lost Quintet would make a great Bootleg Vol 7.
