I can now see this image but still cant see Clifford's, odd. Update : I now can see everything, not sure what the problem was. I'm using Safari on mac os

  5. No new 78s for a while as I'm still pretty much housebound following recent surgery. Strong enough now to play 78s and get up and down every 2-3 minutes !! some purchase from end of 2011 Ida Cox and Lovie Austin's Blue Serenaders- Graveyard Dream Blues (AFCDJ) 1924- French dub from 40s I think- suitable for light weight pick only the sleeve says !! Jasper Taylor's State Street Blues- Stomp time blues/It must be the blues- (Jazz Collector) Nov 1926 Chicago- good quality dub- Freddie Kepppard !!? Barrel House Five- Some do and some don't/ Endurance Stomp- (Jazz Collector) July 1929 - ex QRS- again a good dub Dixieland Thumpers- There'll come a day/Weary way blues ( Jazz collector) Chicago June 1927 ex Paramount? again a good dub but this has Johnny Dodds
  6. like this French cover
  7. John Jenkins/Kenny Burrell- (Blue Note Toshiba)- I find this easier on the ear than the Conn CD of this session. This Toshiba is a little lifeless though where as the Conn is bright with cymbals much louder than the Toshiba. Anyone have the Music Matters edition of this fine session care to comment???
  8. Jack Millman- Jazz Studio 4 Parts 1 & 2 (Brunswick-London) 45 rpm EPs
  9. Jugs Washboards & Kazoos (RCA Victor)- some fun stuff here, nice selection in good sound
  10. next Duke Ellington A Drum is a woman (Philips UK)
  11. Fingers Remember Mingus (Spotlite) 1979- odd line up of Michael Garrick, Lol Coxhill, Bruce Turner, Dave Green and Alan Jackson. Setlist also varied with Anthropology rubbing shoulders with Tears Inside and Mood Indigo !!!
  12. nice piece and very well played.
  13. Extension pre-order through amazon uk at a very reasonable price Extension
  14. This morning starts with the two Seldon Powell Vogue LPs ( ex Roost)- reissued by Freshsound I think on CD) next
  15. How about a website/facebook documenting the reissues and the outstanding reviews they have received. Good photos of the product would help push the reissues to those unfamiliar with the artists.
  16. Louis Hayes The Real Thing (Muse)- 1977, strong set with some excellent Woody Shaw and Rene McLean convincing, produced by Michael Cuscuna
  17. That cover art would make good Indian restaurant wallpaper ! Yeah, if that's 1964, the art director was ahead of his/her time in terms of getting psychedelic. Ever heard of either of these two (bottom, lower-leftish, very small print)? Album design Cristos Gianakos, Cover Art Barbara Nessim -
  18. er....I've never heard of it ....
  19. I was mightly taken by the preview clip Cafe Oto provide. I hadn't realised but if you order the vinyl you get down load link gratis @320 what-evers. Looking forward to this.
  20. I was spinning this just yesterday. It's a great sounding set , typical of the series.
  21. Yes, I think it is. The session is from 1972 I think (issued then, recorded 1971) and the UA labels were 'current' during 1970-73. Also, a lot of copies of this one seem to have been given the dreaded 'corner clip' treatment on the sleeve but this one survived unscathed. I'll need to spin the CD later, I was exactly overwhelmed when I last listened to it. The handful of UA BN issues or reissues I've got seem really excellent pressings.
  22. our secret's out !!!
  23. would that be it's first issue ?
  24. next on another 10 incher Billy Taylor Jazz at Storyville- Felsted rec. 1952, typical Taylor, elegant as ever, nice version of Ladybird
  25. Chuck Wayne Tapestry - (Focus) mono 1964- mostly pretty subdued date in relatively limited fidelity, entirely listenable but it's no headline grabber.
