  1. Holy crap! Was that Lon?
  2. Because nobody noticed earlier in the day. Wish I'd said that! Do you have me on "ignore", 1.75?
  3. I'm assuming because CT's birthday wasn't acknowledged until late in the day?
  4. What? He did? Really? Wayne Shorter? Wow!
  5. This is one I keep coming back to, definitely one of my favorite Ellingtons.
  6. Nice site, thanks Peter! I'll be checking it out. See, Agg? Useful information! :rsmile:
  7. Is that what the kids are calling it these days?
  8. Disturbing, yet strangely compelling.
  9. Penzeys Anyone ever check this place out? My sister gave me a gift certificate for Christmas and I finally got around to using it. The shipment arrived today and it looks/smell great! Seems to be very fresh. I got chili powder, lemon pepper, some AMAZING smoked paprika, Italian seasoning, Southwest seasoning and something called "Florida Seasoned Pepper". On the topic of mail-order goodies, here's another place I've been frequenting(I think someone mentioned it on the Food Network). Great, fresh coffee and fast service. St. Ives Coffee Roasters This place is cool too. Mustard Museum Good stuff! Please share your favorites! Mail order is not always just about music!
  10. Wayne can has cheezburger?
  11. I have his head in my freezer. There, I've said it and I don't care WHO knows!
  12. Wayne is credited as the composer on the tune listing in the liners, but not on the tune listing on the back of the CD. Don't we all!
  13. I spied a Woody clip of Four Brothers (on the related videos to the right) featuring Frank Tiberi, Dave Reikenberg, Jerry Pinter and Mike Brignola, as well as a younger Free For All (spotted between the tenor and bari) dutifully playing his brass hits. Those were the days baby!
  14. The liner notes make no mention of the tune or Wayne at all, so they're no help. I'd never heard of the tune before- is there mention of it in that Wayne bio? For some reason I can't locate my copy of the book. I do like the recording and can recommend it, however.
  15. Especially when one of them is Carl Fontana!
  16. Well, no wonder if all you're serving is leftovers!
  17. 128 guests. Call the cops.
  18. Wow..........I'm disappointed, Chris!
  19. It depends, are there sexual favors/ironing hanging in the balance? * *apologies to rachel
  20. Thanks for the nice pics, Jim. Didn't realize John Lithgow was in the band!
  21. umm dan, about your vision, the picture in your avatar is not your kids! Of course they are my kids. Damn straight they are!
  22. A beautiful cool day here. Tonight's menu features chicken/chipotle & black bean enchiladas topped with green onions, cilantro and sour cream. Yummmm.
  23. When Miles' Jazz at the Plaza came out long ago, I remember seeing "Volume I" on the jacket and thinking/hoping that there might be a Volume II with the same band. Turns out Volume II was the recording w/Duke's band (which was certainly not a disappointment. ).
