There's another one that badly needs remastering. I know it's another Horace Silver, but it's probably my favorite. Mention this one, please, Kevin... It's probably my favorite too, Paul.

I believe the original purpose of the RVG series was to get the best selling catalog items remastered and out in the stores again. I doubt we'll see too many obscure titles like a Vick or a Braith. That's what the Connoisseur series is for. Blakeys and Silvers are their bread and buttah. I say, bring 'em on! Tokyo Blues, Baby!

It's funny how this board works sometimes. I was at the store the other day and was considering this: I almost picked it up. It appears to be a 3rd live album that went unreleased until recently. I guess I know where I'm headed after work.

Definitely Oblique. Happenings, too! Bobby!

Petition: Make Ogre-sized M&M's Standard!!

THEY"RE BAAAACCCKKK! My friendly neighborhood supermarket has a big display of these just in time for the holidays (and DVD release no doubt). Don't miss out! -
Guys, I have been trying, but I haven't been warming up to the CD's. I'm going to continue to try, but as of now, I just don't connect with anything other than the mystery. It's a great story, but as for the music...i don't know. Maybe the light will go on for me, maybe not. We'll see. It's been a challenge!

So, is the US K2 of 'Monk's Music' in mono or are you talking about the japanese version? How about 'Monk & Coltrane'? I've always enjoyed the spaciousness of these sessions. That information about overhead mics being used for the stereo versions makes a lot of sense now.

Definitely comic relief. Remember, I'm from SE Michigan and a long time Detroit sports fan. I don't agree that Dumars has anything to do with it. As I understand it, The NBA is in charge of security for the entire league. Joe is head of Basketball Operations. Blame Tom Wilson, or even Bill Davidson, but there is no way Joe Dumars should be on the hook for this. I agree with this take on the whole fiasco: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/writ...eact/index.html

I guess this is what happens when you keep hockey away from Detroit fans for too long. I'm just glad no one was seriously hurt.

Monday Night Football Controversy
Jim Dye replied to Leeway's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
I'm tempted to keep this exchange going until you hit the magical 10,000 post count! However, I have to be up early. Have a good night y'all. -
Monday Night Football Controversy

Well, you make a good argument for why we need to take back the airwaves. I agree that the skit and so much else is offensive and demeaning to women. TV does play to the lowest common denominator. However, most of the people who I have heard chime in on this subject were not concerned about objectification of women, or anything else resembling any kind of deep thought. They were offended because there was a half naked woman on TV. It wasn't the context, it was the skin. That's where I have seen a difference. -
Monday Night Football Controversy

Well, If you do not want your kids to see something like that, then you better just throw the whole damn television in the trash. That skit was nothing compared to DAYTIME television. There has been dry humping on network television for years! I don't see why NOW all of a sudden people are shocked and offended. What about all the erectile disfunction drug ads? What about all the beer ads with twins shaking their twins? Why is this a big deal now? Was this skit the straw that broke the camel's back? I thought we Americans liked a little sex with our violence? -
Monday Night Football Controversy

This is the dumbest fucking non-controversy I have ever seen. I think the media is making a much bigger deal about this than the people who complained in the first place. I guess the idiots on talk radio need something to yammer about and whip jesusland into a frenzy. -
A little medical advice, please...

I just caught this thread as well. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. -
That's awesome, Paul! Congratulations. That's no easy test. When I was looking for a job this past summer, Paul was kind enough to get me an interview with a bank in Detroit. Although things didn't work out, I am very grateful for the opportunity he gave me. It's always good to hone your interview skills. Plus, I was able to meet one of the Organissimo Forums' nicest members! Good luck in all your future endeavors!

It can work with other flash drives, but they probably won't fit into the socket. It's made to fit the Cruzer Micro USB Flash Drive.

I love my iPod, but I just could not resist picking one of these babies up last night. SanDisk Cruzer Micro USB Flash Drive and Micro MP3 Companion $50 bucks!! I have to have a flash drive for my new job. I'm constantly moving files around from place to place. I talked my boss into buying me the SanDisk flash drive since it works with the Micro MP3 Companion: All you do is copy the mp3's from your computer to the flash drive, plug it into the Micro MP3 Companion, and voila! It uses 1 AAA battery which lasts 9 hours or so. Perfect for working out, short trips in the car, etc... Plus it's cheap, so it wouldn't kill me if I dropped it, unlike an iPod. I'm impressed! It plays MP3 and WMV.

Concert review from City Pulse
Jim Dye replied to Jim Alfredson's topic in organissimo - The Band Discussion
Awesome! Larry is a very good friend of mine. I'm glad enjoyed the gig! -
Thanks for reminding me about this record. I heard a review on the radio and it sounds like something I'd dig. On a similar note, I just ordered this from the good folks at Hip-OSelect. http://www.hip-oselect.com/catalogue_ruffin.asp An unreleased David Ruffin album from 1971. Looks very promising. I'll report my findings to the committee.

Interlocking foam play mats
Jim Dye replied to Jim Alfredson's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
Sam's Club had a pack of 8 2'x2' interlocking foam mats that we bought for only 10 bucks or so. I couldn't find them on their web site, but you may find them in the store. Also, how about Meijer? They would have to have something. *edit* ah-ha. what GregK said above. They may have been 20 bucks. Still a pretty good deal.
