  7. Nigella's cooking is alright and she does look prettier than Joel Robuchon! Still I'ld rather go to Robuchon's restaurant, if I could afford it!

    T Bone Walker

You're probably right! Don't recall a date for the incident but it happened after a T-Bone Walker appearance. Will relisten to this with a new perspective!

    T Bone Walker

Hot T-Bone appearance on that 'JATP in London 1969' album. A 1966 concert actually where Dizzy Gillespie and James Moody are among the musicians backing our man!

    Esmond Edwards

I'ld feel much better if there were less of these obituaries to post these days

  12. Isn't 'Hum Dono' supposed to be reissued soon? If not, could provide a CDR if you're desperate! I had a copy of 'Le Temps Fou' when it was released but it seems to be lost I was at the recording session!
  13. Stefano Bollani is one of the main participants (along with our own Organissimo) at the Tel Aviv Jazz Festival 2007!

    Funny Rat

The film is with and about Grachan. Being shot by the person who made that documentary about Gary McFarland...
  16. Booker Ervin 'The Space Book' (Prestige, mono, blue label) with Jaki Byard, Richard Davis and Alan Dawson. Terrific!

  21. Jimmy Giuffre 'Western Suite' (Atlantic, black label)
  22. Le Monde newspaper announces in its paper edition today (nothing about it in its online edition) that pianist Siegfried Kessler died. Kessler drowned last Monday in La Grande Motte, southern France, where ha indulged in his passion for sailing. He was one of the most interesting musician on the French scene. Kessler was born in 1935 in Sarrebrucken. He had played with Joe Henderson, Dexter Gordon, Archie Shepp among others. One of his most recent album was this collaboration with Archie Shepp: Story - in French - in today's 'Liberation' newspaper: http://www.liberation.fr/culture/musique/230994.FR.php
  23. Interesting Brownie, how although we are from vastly different parts of the world, Garth, we seem to have quite a number of things going on together. My fixation with Susan Harrison started when I saw an article about her in 'Esquire' magazine shortly before 'Sweet Smell of Success' was released, when Esquire was a mighty interesting read! Her appearance in the film was full confirmation that she was something else!
  24. Bet you don't hear the sound of a beer bottle falling over on an ECM album
