  1. sorry for the bad news: just called him to check, but not included Many thanks for trying!
  2. Tina Louise! As hot as Deborah Kerr And Tina recorded with Coleman Hawkins! Can't remember a record reunion of Kerr and Bean
  3. Thanks for reminding me of the glory of vinyl! Just what I needed But in the case of albums like the Peppers, I am not holding out on buying the music on CDs specially when they have added tracks (one in that particular case). The original recording by Bob Andrews (bless him wherever he is now) was not exactly state of the art. The sound on that CD reissue is nothing to be ashamed of!
  4. Yes but I feel like a jerk for not having pinned Tete One of the musicians I listen to the most often! And to add more injuries, I did not recognize the Chautemps-Urtreger 'Darn That Dream'. And to think I heard that quintet (with a slightly different crew) a few weeks after that Duc des Lombards appearance. Tom, can't thank you enough for having included me among the participants. I'll keep your 2 discs in a special place!
  5. Tom, if there is a copy of Mort Herbert's 'Night People', would appreciate if you could grab it for me! Been looking for that one for a long time. I'll paypal, mail money, or whatever if you can get it!
  6. You would have made a better deal by getting the 2CD release It has all ten tracks that were on the two StraightAhead vinyls plus another tune (Holiday Flight) from those gigs.
  7. More BN over 1K KF Afro-Cuban Blowing In From Chicago
  8. All I have been getting since I started searching are results from the past couple of weeks.
  9. Yes, a very Happy Birthday to Leeway Still waiting for his comeback here!
  10. Larry Young Complete BN, disc 4
  11. Joe Henderson 'Mode for Joe' (BN stereo, NY label)
  12. I am one of those that prefer to have the material available on a chronological (Classics ) basis. If I need to go back or advance to specific dates, I'ld rather prefer do it my way rather than having it done by someone else! But I do this not very often. I like to go from one date to the next. More interesting to listen to the progression!
  13. I would have a hard time choosing between 'Sonny Rollins + Four' and 'Movin' Out'!
  14. Volume 2 which is the first of the series to be issued includes ALL sides on which Fats Waller appears from the March 1, 1929 session to the November 7, 1934 one. As mentioned before, volume 1 which should have the sessions up to early 1929 should be out next. If it (and the next volumes) is as thorough and enjoyable as volume 2, I plan to get them all. And discard the French RCA issues which were a bit of a mess! The sides Fats Waller recorded in Britain were not included in the French vinyl collection because they had not been recorded for RCA. The JSP vol. 2 includes everything (RCA, Okeh, etc... sides).
  15. Don't count too much on this. Most of the Shandar master tapes were ruined in a flood that damaged the place where they were stored. Better hand on to those Shandar vinyls if you're lucky enough to have kept them!
  16. Not doing any better with guesses on that second disc. Good thing is I enjoyed listening to most of the tracks. Track 1 - Is that Hutch getting into 'Blues Five Spot'? Nice relaxed opener. Liked that duet. Track 2 - Could not get excited with that track. Might be a Jaco Pastorius big band. I stopped listening to this type of Weather Report-inspired music a long time ago. The playing here does not make me feel like going back on that road Track 3 - This sounds much better. Could be the Gil Evans band with Hannibal on trumpet and Billy Harper on tenor. A quite awaesome performance. Really liked that one Track 4 - Shades of melancholy. Good pianist but I'm stuck with being unable to identify him. Track 5 - Lovely Delilah. Tend to stay away from flute albums but the featured musician knows his craft. Can't say I enjoy the sound produced by the Hammond player. Track 6 - Wish I could guess who that was on tenor. The man makes a straight and serious statement. I know I'll feel stupid when the answers are posted. A splendid performance! Track 7 - Sounded like the George Adams-Don Pullen group going their sweet way. A very exciting performance! Track 8 - Darn That Dream by a tenor player who comes from where the player on track 6 came from. The man makes sense. Track 9 - This ends on a happy note and leaves me dumfounded once more! Guess the bass player was doing those funny vocals.
  17. I personally don't bother with albums that sell for several hundred dollars. The way you describe it, I would say around $300 would be a fair price. Not Rollins' best album, or rarest!
  18. Another lousy packaging job from Sony/Columbia. But the discs are aging without problems!
  19. Dave Pike 'Bossa Nova Carnival' (New Jazz, stereo) with Clark Terry and Kenny Burrell
  20. Always thought it was Frank Sinatra who made a hit of 'The Good Life'! That's what Sacha Distel proudly stated on numerous occasions.
  21. Should be worth getting. Out in November... The Jazz Image The link may take some time to load...
  22. Happy Birthday
  23. The Good Life! Sacha and friends:
  24. Mais oui! I know who you have in mind
  25. The Analogue set: Have not heard this one. I have the originals of all these LPs!
