I'm afraid Roger is about to lose. I've run out of work to do and am moving to the couch. Everytime I watched from there, he lost (both tie breaks) and when I went back to the office and watched online, he won the set. Honestly if he does lose this will be about the biggest disappointment. Never seen him play this sloppy. And I can't remember ever seeing so many shanks off the frame.

Umm, yeah, we really don't. I'll admit I read the JT letter first before posting. Had to figure out which browser I could use to access it. I am not nearly as negative about this situation as many seem to be. I don't think its fraud. I do think they need the money but I also think that something "not right" is going on in that apartment. But is it elder abuse? Or two confused people living like hermits for whatever reason. And I don't find the list of people who have seen Kenny to be sad or anything like that. A blanket statement was given in the Wapo article that no one there has seen him in literally years. So given that, I would want to wrack my brain and think of the people who have seen me leave the place for medical appointments or whatever.

I have the two disc set and condensed down to the takes marked as master or not rejected on the BN discography ... Hank's squeaky reed is certainly more noticeable on the breakdowns and false starts and full takes. I do agree that Lee is really strong and (I probably posted this before) there's a spot or two where the band falls apart behind him and Lee does this run of notes that sounds to me like "WTF fellas? I was burnin'!". He was getting frustrated for sure. Overall though David I don't think that the session measures up, and having the band play the same tunes live later on was a good idea by Alfred. The set doesn't measure up to the best of the LT releases Michael got issued way back when ...

Since they just got ejected from the ballpark (news report say no arrests) I really wish the security guy had used the pepper spray he had on his belt as soon as the kicks and arm flailing came at him. Otherwise I agree with Jim. Drunken chick fights between heifers are lame.

I was thinking about this when reading Brad's blanket statement. I've never been to an optometrist who just plopped me in the chair and started dialing up the magnification until I could see the big E. They are like the front line of the eye exam world, checking for different eye diseases every time, doing the drops to dilate the pupil etc etc. If something comes up they will refer you to an opthalmologist.

First is a nice bit of misdirection. Second - do you do due diligence on where and how your lenses are made? Do you think they can be made in such a way as to actually damage your eyes, if produced by a lab used by an online outfit? As mentioned previously, its just as likely they are sent out to the same exact lab as does the lenses for an online seller. Or I don't know Brad maybe those online sellers use sweatshop labor and 100 year old equipment. That's how they get their prices so low and afford those national advertising campaigns.

Seriously Brad? So, let's say that Person A goes to a qualified Optometrist, who verifies the health of his eyes and issues a new, slightly stronger prescription. So does Person B. Person A walks 10 feet thru the waiting area into the "independent" retail establishment that sells frames and has equipment onsite to create the glasses the prescription calls for. He finds a frame he likes and if his prescription is simple enough, in about an hour walks out with clearer vision and $500 lighter in the wallet. Person B walks out of the optometrist's office, turns right thru the exit door, shops online for frames, and about four days later has a set of frame he likes and vision that is also clearer. He is $300 lighter in the wallet. Person B has stinted on his preservation of his eyesight??? In what possible way? I don't know how it works in Old Europe but in the states, it seems that part of the job description and duty for licensed opticians is to adjust the frames of anyone who walks thru the door. Frames get knocked around (I don't know how many times my dog has fucked up my glasses) and you go to the eyeglass store to get them tightened up. No one has ever asked if I bought them there, and I have certainly gone to retail establishments I've never purchased from for this service. If this is a problem, what would you possibly do if you were out of town and had your frames twisted around so the damn things wouldn't even stay on your face? Wait until you are back so you can take them where you bought them, or go find an optician and ask them to tighten these things back up?
