  1. Thanks for that very informative post, MG!

  3. After trying out with the NY Jets, Bo Smith has signed with the Ticats. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=334576
  4. Jesse Lumsden has signed with the Stampeders. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/football/lumsden-signs-with-stampeders-practice-squad/article1715768/
  5. Good idea, Jim. I can't remember the last time I checked for spyware, so I went to tucows and downloaded Spybot - Search & Destroy. It found 18 spyware programs and 100 issues. We'll see if the machine runs any faster now. I bet it will!
  6. LOL! I needed to do it again! It seems like I can't download anything without getting an unwanted toolbar!
  7. Toronto Argonauts 17....Winnipeg Blue Bombers 13 http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4343129 Pretty boring for most of the first three quarters, but a good fourth quarter. Lots of punts. Renaud punted 12 times, Boreham 11 times. ***** Montreal Alouettes 31....Edmonton Eskimos 14 http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4343185 Anthony Calvillo is back. The Als jumped off to an early 26-0 lead, and coasted the rest of the way.
  8. Hamilton Tiger-Cats 36....British Columbia Lions 31 http://scoreboards.canoe.ca/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=canoe&page=CFL/scores/final/W873.htm Good game with a crazy fourth quarter. BC led 28-16 after three, but self-destructed with five turnovers in the fourth. In that one quarter, Casey Printers threw two INTs and fumbled twice.
  9. In 1967 I got an album on the Parrot (London) label by Alan Price called This Price is Right. This was Price's first US album after he left The Animals. One of the songs was called Bet No One Ever Hurt So Bad by Randy Newman. A few years later BS&T released Spinning Wheel. It's the same song with different lyrics.
  10. Ah. Footscray I remember. Western is news to me. I saw a headline at The Age's site that referred to them as W Bu, and I couldn't think of who that might be.
  11. Thanks, Jim!
  12. I had the one with Go Down Gamblin' on it from 1971. Was that #3 or #4?
  13. Kenny, what city are the Bulldogs from? I'm not sure I have heard of them. Are they a relatively new team?
  14. Thanks Ted! I guess I shouldn't have assumed. PS - I don't see the Raleigh date listed on Jim's link. Maybe the show was cancelled.
  15. It's that time of year again! The teams will be Collingwood and St. Kilda. I assume that the Grand Final will again start Friday night midnight eastern time. And once again we can listen at http://www.3aw.com.au/
  16. Saskatchewan Roughriders 43....Calgary Stampeders 37 http://scoreboards.canoe.ca/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=canoe&page=CFL/scores/final/W872.htm Best game in a long time! I counted five lead changes. With the score tied 37-37 on the last play of regulation, the Riders could have gone for a 35-yard field goal, but instead elected to go for the 48-yard punt single to win the game. Eddie Johnson had been kicking great punts all game, but when it really mattered he couldn't get it done, and the Stamps ran it back out of the end zone to save the game. The Riders had the ball first in OT, and Wes Cates scored a TD. The Riders had no answer to the Stamps offense the whole game, but when it mattered they stopped them at the 3 yard line.
  17. I forgot to mention last month that David Clayton-Thomas and Blood, Sweat & Tears were touring with Orleans (remember them?), and they visited Raleigh about four weeks ago. I heard the advertisement for the show on the radio.
  18. Charles Lloyd's Mirror does not stray far afield from his past few ECM albums. I find it a little easier to digest initially than the others. I suppose the primary difference between the various albums is the pianist. Jason Moran is fine here, but he doesn't do anything here that would make you want to rush out to buy one of his own albums. I particularly like Monk's Mood and Caroline, No.
  19. After trying out with Arizona, Stevie Baggs has signed with the Ticats. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=333927 ***** Jesse Lumsden has decided not to sign with the Bombers. The Stampeders are interested. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=333984 ***** Matt Flowers West report http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=/cfl/news/AJN4342108.htm ***** Matt Flowers East report http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4342312 ***** Gregg Xenakes Week 12 picks http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4342163 *****
  20. I bought every Soft Machine LP as it was released. I'm definitely up for getting these five on CD. Thanks for the heads up!
  21. After trying out with Washington and Detroit, Justin Medlock has signed with the Argos. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/football/medlock-returns-to-argos/article1708848/
  22. Happy Birthday 2010 gslade!
  23. Thanks Jim. That's plenty for me for now. I've just finished listening to the Sonny Rollins New Paultz concert. After that, I've no desire to hear more!
  24. Foley has had a change of heart. He never signed the contract with the Lions, and he has decided to go with the Argos. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/football/foley-snubs-lions-in-favour-of-argos/article1707849/
  25. Any idea how many hours a non-member can listen to a month before he is cut off?
