  1. I see that this album was nominated for a Grammy today. Cat. 48 - Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album http://www.grammy.com/nominees?year=2010&genre=16
  2. I have changed the thread title, as the off-season has now begun! This thread is now three years old, with 25,687 views. That's 8,562 views per year, which is pretty amazing! ***** Ken Miller is stepping down as head coach of the Riders. He will remain as VP of football operations. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/football/miller-gives-up-coaching-duties-with-roughriders/article1822012/ ***** Gene Makowski is entering politics. He will plan to continue playing, but he has already played 16 years, so his career is almost at an end anyway. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/football/roughriders-makowsky-tackles-politics/article1821437/
  3. I got my Atari 1040 ST in 1987, and one of the first things I did was start a database of my record collection. I've been using it ever since. I no longer use the Atari for anything else, and I would like to start a new database using WinOS. Can anyone recommend something appropriate? Free is good. I saw something at tucows the other day that might work, but I thought I would ask here first. PS - I should add that I want the ability to make a few notes of my own, such as date purchased, date opened, vendor, and years played.
  4. FFA, if you're going to keep telling puns like that, we're going to have to vote on you!
  5. While searching for the thread about Goode's new album, I found this thread from two years ago. Thanks FU!
  6. I see that Doug Ramsey discusses this album in his Rifftides blog today. He has a very high opinion of it. http://www.artsjournal.com/rifftides/
  7. ghost, I have and enjoy the Riverside and Contemporary compilations. I thought that "compilation" was a dirty word around here, and that we're not aloud to use it lest some folks get offended! PS - LOL!!! That's "allowed"!
  8. And thanks for playing, everybody!
  9. Evan, your Mosaic gift certificate is on its way!
  10. Dave, my recollection is that The Swamp Fox was shown on a series called Walt Disney Presents, and alternated with Zorro and The Nine Lives of Elfego Baca (who was Robert Loggia).
  11. 2010 Grey Cup: Montreal Alouettes 21....Saskatchewan Roughriders 18 http://scoreboards.canoe.ca/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=canoe&page=CFL/scores/final/W908.htm http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=343362 http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Football/CFL/GreyCup/2010/11/28/16352561.html Allan Maki's report http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/allan-maki/als-repeat-as-grey-cup-champs/article1816708/ Jamel Richardson named the game's MVP. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=343378 Box score and stats of the game. http://scoreboards.canoe.ca/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=canoe&page=CFL/scores/final/boxscore.aspx?GAMEID=908
  12. Happy Birthday 2010 felser!
  13. RIP. He was a favorite of mine.
  14. Final: Montreal Alouettes 21....Saskatchewan Roughriders 18 And our winner is...Bright Moments!!! Congratulations Evan! PM me your address, and I'll get your Mosaic gift certificate out to you promptly.
  15. With 3:15 left: Montreal 21....Saskatchewan 18 Another Duval FG and Coburne TD run gave the Als a ten point lead. Sask's Parento has just caught a one yard TD pass.
  16. After three: Saskatchewan 11....Montreal 11 Duval kicked a short FG after a lengthy Montreal drive. Sask's offence showed nothing that quarter.
  17. At the half: Saskatchewan 11....Montreal 8 The Riders scored four points on Eddie Johnson's FG and punt single. The Als' O-line has not done a good job of protecting Calvillo. So that means that currently the contest would go to...danasgoodstuff!
  18. After one: Montreal 8....Saskatchewan 7 The Als dominated the entire quarter, but scored only one TD (Coburne plunge) and a single point on a missed Duval FG. Sask scored a TD (Cates plunge) on the last play of the quarter.
  19. The contest is now closed. Good luck everyone!
  20. Pure Imagination has become a Christmas standard. I have heard it on the radio a great deal the past couple of years.
  21. OK, I think I have found my problem, at least enough to solve it. I double clicked on the download's title in the "downloads" box, and the download was imported into Windows Media Player. So now I think I am set.
  22. Help! When I downloaded the album, I clicked on "save" rather than "open". Now I don't see the album anywhere on my computer. I thought it would show up when I booted Windows Media Player. I guess you can tell that this is my first experience downloading an MP3! LOL What do I do?
  23. I found an album that was released when I was in college forty years ago, wanted it then, but never picked it up - Joe Zawinul's Rise and Fall of the Third Stream. I quickly bought it for $3.89.
  24. You're welcome! I've been looking at the albums that are $5.99. Can anyone recommend any?
