  1. I have his Russo/Holman Mosaic and a few others, and I like them all. His Christmas album is one of my favorites, such as it is.
  2. Happy Birthday Leeway!
  3. Stefan, how were the prices in China? Low?
  4. Happy Birthday HG! 40? I guess you're over the hill now!
  5. Bol, I bought a CD from them a year or two ago. I don't remember the details, except that I was completely satisfied.
  6. Matt Flowers West report http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=/cfl/news/AJN4348615.htm ***** Matt Flowers East report http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4348781 ***** Gregg Xenakes Week 16 picks http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4348762 ***** Allan Maki Week 16 picks http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/football/cfl-picks/article1758137/ ***** Eric Tillman has claimed Justin Medlock. This makes the Noel Prefotaine deal look like a steal for the Eskimos. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=337382 ***** Montreal, Calgary and Saskatchewan have clinched playoff spots. The winner of tonight's Toronto-Hamilton game will clinch another. http://stats.sports.theglobeandmail.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=globeandmail&page=cfl/stand/standingAJ.htm http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/feature/?id=11238 ***** Jamie Boreham hurt his hamstring in last week's game, and he is done for the season. The Argos put him on the nine-game injured list. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=337448
  7. Happy Birthday Bluerein!
  8. Thanks David! It's great to see candor from someone who is competent.
  9. Happy Birthday John! Have you been to see the Argos yet this year?
  10. Eric Tillman has claimed Derick Armstrong hours after he signed with the Riders. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=337281
  11. The Lions have released Casey Printers! http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/football/lions-release-casey-printers/article1755177/
  12. Hey Paul, nobody responded to my post. Maybe they'll respond to yours!
  13. What a lineup! Congrats David!
  14. As expected, I'm hearing this one quite often on Sirius. More than one song.
  15. Eric Tillman has traded Noel Prefontaine back to the Argos. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/football/prefontaine-traded-back-to-argos/article1753355/
  16. Happy Birthday TD!
  17. Today is Thanksgiving Day in Canada, so two games were played today. This week's games were rematches of last week's games, and in every case last week's loser was this week's winner. So all four Eastern teams won, and all four Western teams lost. So again, there was no change in the standings. Hamilton Tiger-Cats 36....Edmonton Eskimos 11 http://scoreboards.canoe.ca/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=canoe&page=CFL/scores/final/W884.htm Whatever pizzazz the Eskimos showed the past two weeks they didn't have this week. ***** Toronto Argonauts 24....Saskatchewan Roughriders 19 http://scoreboards.canoe.ca/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=canoe&page=CFL/scores/final/W885.htm Surprise! I don't think that anyone expected the Riders to lose to the Argos at home. The teams appeared to be evenly matched, so maybe the Argos played their best game of the year, and the Riders one of their worst. ***** Montreal Alouettes 46....Calgary Stampeders 19 http://scoreboards.canoe.ca/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=canoe&page=CFL/scores/final/W886.htm It was 30-4 at the half. Ben Cahoon broke the record for career pass receptions with 1,007. Damon Duval was injured, so the Als signed rookie Colt David from LSU. He went 6 for 6 in FGs. ***** Winnipeg Blue Bombers 47....British Columbia Lions 35 http://scoreboards.canoe.ca/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=canoe&page=CFL/scores/final/W887.htm Terrific game! The Lions led 32-11 after three. The Bombers started Alex Brink at QB, who went a dismal 5 of 19 and was benched for Stephen Jyles who brought the team back. The Lions had a three point lead with 27 seconds to go. Javon Johnson returned the punt 61 yards to put the Bombers in FG range, and they tied it 32-32 with no time left on the clock. In the first OT both teams kicked a FG. In the second OT the Bombers scored a TD, and failed on the two-point convert (which is required in OT this year). Needing a TD to tie it, Casey Printers threw an interception to Deon Beasley who ran it all the way back.
  18. Chuck, you're welcome to say that in the Canadian league thread!
  19. I second Richard Twardzik!
  20. My first thought is to ask myself, "Whose last albums were great?" I don't know if this answers that question, but I will vote for Michael Brecker, a favorite of mine. (I wish that Steve Marcus had recorded more. I loved him when I was in college, but I've grown tired of what I have of his.) In terms of Alfred Lion, definitely Fats Navarro.
  21. I listened to the first half of the Packers-Redskins game today. The Packers did everything except score points. First year since 1970 that no team has gone 4-0.
  22. For me it's the economy. My music is far more valuable to me than money, and I would never sell anything if I didn't have to.
  23. Thanks David! I find two sites, one for $27.99 and one for $26.59. http://www.galleryofsound.com/rel/v2_viewupc.php?storenr=501&upc=88697787842
  24. When I was in first grade, my sister in eighth grade had a George Shearing book her piano teacher had assigned. I guess he was the first jazz musician I became aware of. About 1988 I bought the Pausa reissue of The Shearing Spell and loved it. I bought three other Shearing albums and then the Mosaic box. I think that the guy on Boylston St. had the right idea!
