  1. Thanks Sandy. I stumbled on it. They should make it obvious! I think the suggestion to practice on a few small auctions was a good idea. I know a lot more than I did 48 hours ago.
  2. Thanks for all the input! For some reason both ads state on the upper right that I intend to sell to the US, when in fact I wish to offer the items to the world. Anybody know how to change that?
  3. Jim, I don't know how to do that, but I have the perfect solution. Buy the mag and do it yourself!!!!
  4. Thanks for cheering me up!
  5. LOL! riverrat, sjarrell said just the opposite. He feels that paying extra for a term over seven days is a waste of money. I'm glad I asked here, so that I can see the differences of opinion.
  6. Very interesting that you say that, blake. sjarrell sells Mosaics on eBay, and he advised me to avoid weekends, and to try to end the auctions between 4:30 and 5:00 when people at work are wrapping up. The book talked about a feature that will delay the start of the auction, but I can't find that. There is a blank near the top of the auction page for the condition of the item, but I can't find where to fill in that blank. What do you guys think of the wood border on the second auction? It was free because I had a subtitle. Would it look better without it? I think many auctions feature too many text colors and too-fancy fonts. I don't think people interested in Mosaics want the cutsie look.
  7. I've bought a couple of things on eBay before - one auction and one Buy It Now, but I've never sold anything before. So in anticipation of my selling my Mosaics, I have read The Complete Idiot's Guide to eBay. It suggested that you practice with a few trivial items before you try to sell expensive items. So yesterday I started my first auction, and today my second, and I intend to do a few more before the Mosaics next week. I'm offering a few mags that are in good shape. I'm hoping that I get a couple of bids so that I can see how eBay's behind-the-scenes programs work regarding actually making a sale, but if I don't that's OK. There are still a couple of things I would like to do, but can't find how to do them. If you have a moment, please look at my auctions and make any constructive criticisms that you wish. Now's the time to learn, before I put the Mosaics up for bid. 8. Happy Birthday Mark!
  9. Brazilian pianist Antonio Adolfo and his daughter Carol Saboya have a new album out called La e Ca - Here and There. It's good. The album is very derivative. Adolfo sounds a great deal like Manfredo Fest. Saboya sounds a great deal like Bebel Gilberto. Fortunately for me, I like both Fest and Gilberto. Saboya's voice is weak, but she hits the notes and is never off-key. All of the songs are American or Brazilian standards, familiar to everyone who likes bossa nova. By no means a must-have, but I'm sure I'll enjoy it throughout the summer. The album is available for download at lala, but not for streaming. http://www.lala.com/.../Here_and_There
  10. Until the other day, the only McCartney on Concord that I was aware of was Memory Nearly Full, or whatever it was called. But I saw in the store last week a double CD album called Live in New York, or something like that, which was also on Concord.
  11. I found the problem! I use Firefox. I tried the new IE, and it works. I wonder if MS is blocking Firefox from hotmail.
  12. For the past three days, my hotmail account hasn't worked. I can log in (and out), and see the mail piling up, but I cannot open the emails. When I click on them, nothing happens. It is as if I am not connected. Similarly, I can checkmark the spam emails without opening them, but when I click on the "delete" button, nothing happens. I cannot find a link to a help desk to inform them of my problem. Anybody have a link for me to go to, to even let them know? I have a number of people emailing me to my hotmail address, and I've got a big problem if I am without it.
  13. Lala: Cal Tjader - Latin Connection This is a brand new (out last month) collection of 50s Fantasy sides. I recognize the last half as the album Latin Kick.
  14. Happy Birthday 2010 Aggie!
  15. Is this a public domain release, or is it something that Concord released in Europe?
  16. All three of my packs contained one Ellery Queen and two Alfred Hitchcocks. I ordered two more packs last night to see if I would get any different mags.
  17. Lala: John Barry - The EMI Years - Volume 3 (1962-1964)
  18. Happy Birthday 2010 Flurin!
  19. Lala: The Animals - Songs of The Animals featuring Eric Burdon All but two of these are re-makes. Burdon still sounds great.
  20. You're welcome Weizie! I ordered three packs late Saturday night. I was delighted to find my package from Dell in the mailbox today. That's very quick for Media Mail. However, I am somewhat disappointed in what they sent. Remember, the mags come in packs of three, and I ordered three packs. Well two of the packs they sent were identical. And the third pack had one issue that was included in both of the other packs. So for my $6.75 I received five different issues. That comes to #1.35 each, which isn't bad, and I have four issues I can give away to friends and family. By the way, one of the issues is an Ellery Queen Christmas issue, which I am very happy to receive. Weizie, let us know if you have better luck with the packs you receive! And was the subscription to Alfred Hitchcock or Ellery Queen?
  21. Congratulations and good luck, Chuck!
  22. Lala: Cilla Black - The Very Best of Sandie Shaw - The Very Best of
  23. LOL Chuck, I once had a deal to become the Official Cigar of the CFL Players Union, but the Canadian govt doesn't want cigars in the limited quantity I had in mind to cross the border. That is to say, the first shipment never made it.
  24. Lala: Charles Tolliver - Emperor March Nels Cline Singers - Initiate, disc 1
