well, here's one reason: the Tigers are the best team in baseball right now, the Twins are right behind them and they are playing each other right now, yet who is on the national ESPN game tonight? the Yankees!! Who was on the Fox game yesterday? The Red Sox! Yes, it's not the teams' fault, but I hate it when the networks always show the same teams every week! Do they actually think everyone east of California wants to see these same teams week after week? What does it take to put the Tigers or Twins on the game of the week? And the Mets have always been a favorite team to hate. Just because they are the Mets! One of the greatest baseball moments for me was Sept 99 when Chipper single-handedly eliminated the Mets from the NL East race (kinda like Beltran is doing now to the Braves!)

they are burying the braves! if any team was going to break the braves' streak why the mets?? couldn't it have been philly at least?

I didn't think I could hate another team more than I do the Red Sox and Yankees, but now we have a 3-way tie-the Mets!!

these Borders coupons have been pretty much useless lately. I wonder if this has anything to do with the new management at the head office here in Ann Arbor. The new guy came in a few months ago and cleaned house, laying off a lot of people (some of whom had been there in the original Borders store with the Borders brothers) and generally changing the atmosphere. Not looking too good

hasn't Wickman been awful this season though? I'm not sure about this trade (although the Braves GM always seems to trade low level minor leaguers who go nowhere for useful players, so you never know). What is annoying about this trade though is that the Braves tried to sign Wickman during the offseason; if he had been with them from Opening Day, maybe they wouldn't have buried themselves in that giant hole they've been in

At least you avoided the wildly inaccurate "It's because Mazzone left" excuse that I hear everywhere else. He's doing wonders with that Oriole staff, isn't he? The problem is that they should have used the money they threw at Renteria for a closer (and they did try for Wagner, Hoffman and Wickman) and stuck Betemit at short instead. It is now time to trade Giles and Hudson (what happened to him???), maybe Laroche too, play McCann and Diaz full time, maybe try Chipper at first base and see if Sosa can close games until they can get someone else. And Bobby does have an annoying tendency to stick with the overrated veterans (like Jordan, Keith Lockhart, etc) when he has much better, younger options. I can understand the loyalty, and the value the veterans can bring to playoff games, but I have gotten sick of seeing Jordan or whoever else come up in the inevitable Game 5 elimination game with the Braves down by three in the 7th or 8th with two out and a runner on and weakly pull one to the first baseman on the second pitch.
