  1. This box set, and most (if not all) of the single-disc compilations are now in yourmusic.com, $5.99/disc
  2. hasn't Dylan always done that though? I don't remember if he gave credit on his early folk albums where he did a lot of songs that weren't his, but I seem to remember people discussing this same issue with Time Out of Mind and Love and Theft (although this "borrowing" was not as blatant as it is on Modern Times)
  3. Have they stopped checking for 'roids or something? Giambi, now Bonds...what do we believe?
  4. I'm just waiting for the inevitable, tired jokes about Jarrett's moaning/gyrating, etc.
  5. Thanks for the informative response! I would like to get them all- maybe I will start with the Istanbul Sextet.
  6. In this week's Downtown Music Gallery newsletter, there is mention of Braxton making available to DMG a number of out of print Braxton House recordings. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations regarding any of these. Are they all Ghost Trance Music? Here are the titles: ANTHONY BRAXTON - Four Compositions (Washington, D.C.) 1998: Nos 46, 70, 222, 223 [2 CD set] (Braxton House 009; USA) ANTHONY BRAXTON - Trillium R: Shala Fears For The Poor - Composition No 162 (Opera in Four Acts) [4 CD set & Libretto] (Braxton House 008; USA) ANTHONY BRAXTON - Ensemble (New York) 1995: Composition No 187 (Braxton House 007; USA) ANTHONY BRAXTON - Octet (New York) 1995: Composition No 188 (Braxton House 006; USA) ANTHONY BRAXTON - Four Compositions (Quartet) 1995: Nos 182, 183, 184, 181 (Braxton House 005; USA) ANTHONY BRAXTON - Tentet (New York) 1996: Composition No 193 (Braxton House 004; USA) ANTHONY BRAXTON - Composition No. 102 (for Orchestra & Puppet Theater) (Braxton House 003; USA) ANTHONY BRAXTON - Sextet (Istanbul) 1996: Composition Nos 185 & 186 [2 CD set] (Braxton House 001; USA)
  7. Are the Tigers starting Rogers in any of these games? I HOPE SO!!! Hope he gets his ass kicked, too! Rogers actually didn't let them down this series, this time it was Bonderman (as usual, lately). The Tigers appear to have just fattened up on the weaker teams; they have played terribly against the better teams most of this season. If they hang on and make the playoffs, it will be a 3-and-out division series
  8. Obviously Ken Burns had nothing to do with it!
  9. It's available on vinyl I think you know what I meant. Right. And I responded by saying it's available on vinyl, so it can be broken down into sides.
  10. It's available on vinyl
  11. One. And it was the last thing they have done that has been interesting.
  12. me too! One of the very best shows I have been to
  13. I've tried a few of his recent ECM discs and was bored by all of them. No thanks. Greg, his earlier releases are much better IMHO. His duo recordings with Sam Rivers are outstanding. I know. I have been meaning to get any of those that I can find
  14. paul molitor
  15. I will be buying the Dolphy set eventually
  16. why cant this be released on CD?
  17. I'm assuming this is directed at me. Yes, you're right, it says Attention Dave Holland fans. I am a fan. Which is why I am disappointed in his most recent work. If I wasn't a fan, I wouldn't bother listening. To each his own, indeed.
  18. Not cold turkey, but in April our TV died and we haven't bothered to replace it. We have Windows Media Center on our computer (which has a TV tuner), so we still have TV access, but since we have to sit around the computer monitor to watch it, overall TV viewing in this household has been severely curtailed.
  19. I've tried a few of his recent ECM discs and was bored by all of them. No thanks.
  20. Uhh, the yankees won in 96 because the Braves choked so terribly- they lost it and the yankees were there to vulture the title from the Braves.
  21. hopefully this embarassment of a series will finally convince Fox/ESPN that there are better teams out there that deserve to be shown more often.
  22. those Mosaic Miles Davis sets are mostly still available. And check out what Classic Records is doing-some great reissues of Blue Note LPs. And if you are not totally swearing off rock and roll, they have been handling the recent Neil Young output on LP, and they sound great!
  23. i still don't understand how my 7/22 order arrived last week and those who ordered before I did still haven't gotten theirs yet. This is a lot of music- I'm only on disc 6!
  24. only two here. I promise to fix that!
