  1. I don't know what to think of Exposure. I think I prefer the material with Daryl Hall ( Never thought I'd say that!) on the reissue, but this reissue is the first I've heard any version of it. I haven't lived with it like others have.
  2. woops!! I meant the download from dgmlive, not a KCCC. Its July 1 1996, London. That '95 Wiltern is good too.
  3. Of the live shows, only the Philly one sounds good. Cap d'Agde is a good performance but the sound quality isnt great. Moles Club sounds like a low-quality bootleg. The Sessions disc is interesting the first time you hear it, but it's not something I go back to often. You want to get the recently released live KCCC from London, 1996. One of the very best live shows by any version of the band.
  4. you could go all the way to Pi and it would still be great
  5. Certainly from xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo. Save your money for other stuff you don't have. well, thats just it- I don't have it at all, and it appears that the vinyl may be cheaper than the CD
  6. I saw this on vinyl at a local shop today. Does anyone know anything about this, in terms of source tapes? Is it digital or analog?
  7. Damn- I meant to go to this show. I checked the schedule tonight and they are playing Detroit tonight! Too late!
  8. so what happened to the Mosaic offer, Chuck?
  9. It sounds good to me, but then my system isn't special and my turntable is a very cheap, non-adjustable Denon. It sounded better on my old Hitachi from the 70s! I'd like to hear Year of the Horse and Silver and Gold on vinyl, if I could ever find them
  10. my copy of Mirror Ball is a double. I think the HDCD logo is just carried over from the CD artwork.
  11. Everything Neil Young has done since about '95 (when he returned to analog recording) has sounded better on vinyl (particularly Broken Arrow and Greendale!)
  12. Chuck, does that go for that reissued Fanfare for the Warriors on vinyl that I've seen around?
  13. did they do the Coltrane at the Half-Note from last year? I'm curious about the sound of that one
  14. I don't even know who he is!
  15. well, other than strongly "encouraging" him to drop the acoustic version of his "I have a Dream" song from The ContruKction of Light album
  16. Really now...I wonder what this will sound like. a stripped down ProjeKct Two, maybe?
  17. GregK

    Anthony Braxton

What did he say, if anything?
  18. I am so glad I bought this when I did
  19. huh. I've never understood why people have a problem with this. I simply listen to the music. No problem.
  20. can you post prize #1 anyway on the sexy covers thread?
  21. has this one been posted yet? happy birthday!
  22. There are a few sealed Coltrane Impulse vinyl LPs in a local shop. I was wondering if anyone has any idea about the sound quality of these compared to the CDs; specifically, I was looking at Live at Birdland, and Sun Ship. I am assuming that these are reissues, and if so, are they transfers from the digital masters used for the CDs, or are they original analog? Is there any way to tell?
  23. where are the bathrooms???
