  1. If the boys in blue wanted to play for a national championship, they should have eaten their Wheaties on their trips to Eugene and Iowa City. I will be rooting for them, though, to pave the way for LSU's first championship in 45 years. at least OSU are below Michigan!!
  2. I ordered the Dylan Love and Theft SACD and they sent me a Matchbox 20 CD!! Umm, no thanks. On another forum others were reporting the same mistake
  3. the national champ should be the winner of this game, screw the BCS
  4. The tax issue depends on your state. I don't think I get charged tax for BMG orders
  5. they have the Coltrane Ballads Deluxe?? I havent seen that in there, but A Love Supreme deluxe is. I too have wondered why choose certain discs and not others
  6. I keep them as they came when I bought them, the discs in the box, and I listen to them only (no copying)
  7. Where can I purchase this book?
  8. Why are you comparing Vince Guaraldi to two female singers? I was referring to two others frequently discussed as being jazz or not jazz
  9. Isn't it Guaraldi? I think he's not quite jazz but certainly has a jazz "feel", more so than, say, Diana Krall or Norah Jones. I think he does tend to lean toward the easy-listening side of cool jazz. I do enjoy the Charlie Brown Christmas CD though, for whatever that's worth
  10. Here's a Moosehead, the very finest of Canadian beers, for you on your b-day!! (sorry, I don't have any actual beer to hand out)
  11. Undaunted Courage, the story of Lewis & Clark by Ambrose. What a great read
  12. just cashed in most of my Borders gift cards for Dave Holland Conference of the Birds and Jarrett Trio Tokyo 96
  13. This is an absolute classic. Great set!!! Evidence for Frank as one of the most talented guitarists to ever be recorded is on that set!!
  14. Funny, I asked for the same thing!!! Other things came up so I didn't get it, but I will probably buy it in the next few weeks anyway
  15. Bing, of course, and the Charlie Brown Christmas by Guaraldi is a staple. It's a Wonderful Life, Charlie Brown Christmas, Christmas Vacation, and for the first time for me, tonight we will be watching Holiday Inn on TCM!!
  16. Send it my way! I'm always looking for free Starbucks!!
  17. Staying in Ann Arbor, MI, for baby's first Christmas, and hoping that winter will finally show up here. We get 1-2" of snow and the weather people go nuts screaming for people to take cover from the wicked bad snow storm! These people need to see a Canadian winter!!
  18. I am very unfamiliar with these fellas, but I was listening to the snippets from their ECM rarum disc in Borders and it sounded like something up my alley. Any recommendations on this, or their new one, the Tribute to Lester??
  19. Yeah, it has a lot to do with perspective. I had little to no expectations because I have never heard any of Vitous' previous releases, so I heard it with a completely open mind. Now I am trying to figure out what I should listen to next....
  20. well, it's good to see such opposite tastes!!
  21. I've always been partial to their first 2 releases and the Live in Tokyo double disc. I've found much of the rest to be pretty boring
  22. I have to heartily disagree. This makes my top 10 releases of the year, very near the top!
  23. I think this is one of the very best records of the year, by any stretch. I have listened to it consistently since I bought it. The trio pieces are fascinating, and that "ECM" sound suits the dynamics of the trio perfectly. Excellent release
  24. well, that's your opinion. I'm sure I will be ignoring it tomorrow when I am picking up a grande from StarBUCKS!!!!
  25. wow thanks for these photos Mr A!!! Great thread. Have any others featuring your MC gigs?? This is fantastic stuff
