  1. Mr.Goldberg: the Plas Johnson LP's are not on cd I assume?
  2. Tranemonk: read your own subscript and breath.........
  3. "Nice" to see he got banned after posting twice about this! I'm behind the fact there should be no spamm on Organissimo but to ban him/her is a big too much imo. A discussion would be appropriate. I really like www.clown.com. I already ordered some for next weekend!!!!
  4. sorry I didn't look here before......I was just joking and wanted to see the reaction of "you" all. Of course there should be non jazz related topics but my narrow minded mood of the first posting was indeed because of the jazz -reissues threat fixation (do I make myself clear?). But the reactions are so mild I won't bother try to smoke you out!!!!!
  5. Thanks for your input! Of course I've read all the available reviews and know all rave about it but how reliable is this??? I can't hear for myself because it's no longer in retail and the player I'm about to buy is sold by someone in Germany (I live in the Netherlands as most of you know) so auditioning is out of the question. I'd have to pay about half the new price so that's more than fair I guess.
  6. Very well "said" Brandon!!!!!
  7. Hello all, are there Organissimo posters who have a Musical Fidelity (SA) CD player? I'm thinking of buying a (second hand) Tri-Vista SACD player which was produced in 2003 (only 800 units made). It's similar to the (I guess now sold out) kW SACD player of last year (only 500 units made). Any thoughts/observations are welcome!!!
  8. and I was thinking this was a Jazz oriented forum......please keep the pop lovers at Steve Hofman's and let's discus real music here......
  9. I don't hear anyone complaining about their outrageous shipping charges. That's what keeps me from ordering with them. Come think of it the postal charges between Germany and the Netherlands (neighbours for those who don't know this) is always high.
  10. Strange they did inform me otherwise. They don't know what they are selling apearently. Maybe I should try to order as well.
  11. Just received a copy of this (IMO) highly unusual combination (Getz/Coltrane that is). First Coltrane plays 2 songs with the trio (Chamber & Cobb) then they play together one song and then Getz plays ssome with the trio alone. Coltrane is having troubles playing the melodies straight but when he solo's!!!!!! Wow. Anyone heard this as well?
  12. I have them all except for nr. 21. Is there someone out there who can help me with that issue? Musch appreciated!!!
  13. The sound on the CD is not great but listenable. Indeed the source material isn't the best (to say the least).
  14. Good idea Felser! Should be combined with the 2 Columbia Lloyd LP's which are great too. A fantastic select imo. I'll pass it to MC.
  15. Don't think Montara will be included. Not really straight ahead jazz imo.
  16. anyone who bought some of these please post a review over here so we all can learn about them.
  17. Just a quick checkup at Mosaic: The Hutcherson (if it will be released) has all the straight ahead Jazz sessions from the 70's. The Gibbs was a slip of the tongue by Scott and won't happen.
  18. Lennie Tristano Trio: Lennie Tristano (p) Peter Ind (b) Roy Haynes (d) New York, October 30, 1951 E1KB-4138-1 Juju Jazz 101, East Wind (Jap)EW-8040, Braba (It)BB01 E1KB-4139-1 Passtime - - - Note: Both titles are incomplete and have Tristano playing two pianos at the same time by means of over-dubbing. Jazz 101 was released in both 78rpm and 45rpm formats. East Wind (Jap)EW-8040 titled "Descent into the maelstrom"; see various flwg sessions to 1966 for more titles. Both above titles also on Inner City IC6002. Lennie Tristano (p) New York, c. June, 1953 Descent into the maelstrom East Wind (Jap)EW-8040, Inner City IC6002 Note: This title is an improvised conception of Edgar Allan Poe's story. Tristano is heard playing two pianos at the same time by means of over-dubbing. 19. It was reissued by the Japanese October 2002 in nice DSD remastered sound. The label is East Wind and the catalog number is: UCCJ-9072. Not available through HMV.JP so OOP but maybe Mr.Tanno has a copy left.
  20. Be carefull! these are indeed the flumsy EU/ZYX printed boxes without the nice booklet. Still a steal for this price but just to let you know you won't be getting the 12x12 US versions. I've mailed them and asked so that's how I know it (for those who are always doubtful of what I'm writing)
  21. and we all are wondering why Mosaic has to lay off staff and cut costs otherwise and has to raise prices....... If we all would order them directly at Mosaic this might not be necesary. But I know this is utopia. A healthy and great jazzy 2006 for all at Organissimo and you families.
  22. finally everybody can believe it now!! What a relief.....
  23. Montg: don't hate to think but hate to KNOW it's in those hands, I'm afraid.
  24. David (I'm lightened up!!!): That's why it's called future projects and not upcoming releases!!!!
  25. certainly not when you know it was one of the baddest sellers Mosaic has had!!!!
