Can someone please tell me which Sony CD's are copy controlled? I've never seen one from that company CC'ed. But nevertheless good to know they aren't going to make any either...... Cheers, Reinier

Don't know if it's all the material recorded but all music issued in the Complete Verve Set fit's on 4 cd's easily so maybe they've found some more to add! The new LPR reissue is obsolete even before it's available......... Cheers, Reinier

who said anything about trading????

OK so the bottom line is we have to get the EMI/CAPITOL cd's from the US the UNIVERSAL cd's from the EU and the rest from the moon in order to avoid the CC crap.

LF: Montreal Tapes, Charlie Haden & Geri Allen
Bluerein replied to B. Goren.'s topic in Offering and Looking For...
That's strange???? Why on earth do they have this absurd policy? Good luck then. Cheers, Reinier -

maybe this helps........ http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/offer-lis...2?condition=all Cheers, Reinier -
The UK had indeed a different copy protection sceme than the rest of Europe. This way I could compare the cd's with and without CC from the same (Uden, the Netherlands) factory for sound differences. I guess now the UK has switched to CC as well. Cheers, Reinier

the Japanese K2 remastered version doesn't sound that bad at all. The've even managed to tune the piano a little better . Seriously it does sound OK but it maybe transfered from an LP (I hear some clicks which could be static on the tape as well). The piano doesn't sound distant at all. Cheers, Reinier

maybe off topic but the other (unissued) half of the Morgan session talked about above smokes!!!! Especially Harold Mabern is in top form, too bad you are never going to hear it because MC doesn't think Lee M. is playing as good as he could. Which is true but still it' much better than 99% of the music recorded today. Cheers, Reinier

I'm sure we've got those 2 CD's in the Jazz store I work for so if someone's interested I could buy them for you. Please be aware I'm located in the Netherlands so shipping to the US is a little higher than you might be expecting. Cheers, Reinier

by the way....thanks for the offer for the free LP (!!!!!)

Is there a cheap cd-r online seller hich ships internationally??? Thanks, Reinier

It was on CD ages ago (in the long gone 80's) and never ever reissued after that (indeed not even by the Japanese). I'm looking for a copy myself for a long time now (Ebay, etc..) but no luck either. I have the LP (twice) so if you pay for the postage (from the Netherlands) I could send you one copy. Cheers, Reinier

They will come out in the EU in october (just as the box). Cheers, Reinier

Lon, copies of "real pressed" CD's always sound worse than the original (how small the margin is in some cases). The copy process isn't the best and the layer of the CD-r isn't either. That said the gold cd's can indeed be better but depends on the whole process as well (as Lon said). I'm curious about the gold CD-r's which MFSL has recently issued. Did anyone buy these? The shipping to Europe is pricey so I didn't pull the trigger. Cheers, Reinier

Kurt is his son (or brother I forgot what MC told me). Indeed his recordings are not so OK (to use an understatement). Let's hope his remasterings are a lot better. I think the majority of these Pullen recordings are digital in the first place so there's not a lot to gain anyway. Cheers, Reinier

isn't this something for the offering/looking for topic??? Cheers, Reinier
-
got mine today but no OS-X Acrobat version Let's hope it will be made soon. Cheers, Reinier

Anyone tried the MFSL gold cd-r's already? They look mighty good and pricey as well. Cheers, Reinier

Chick Corea one week at the Blue Note
Bluerein replied to Tjazz's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
What should I add???? It's a great set but you could invest in the single disc Live at the Blue Note just to see if it's for your taste. The upside is if you realy like it you can keep the single disc with the set making it a seven cd set because the takes on this disc aren't in the set. Cheers and you can guess I have it all as well and like it very much (just as Lon I was surprised too how much I did love it in fact). Reinier -
Not mine but a hell of a bargain......... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=4036939524 Cheers, Reinier B-)

Tal Farlow Mosaic set released in Europe?
Bluerein replied to andersf's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
In the Netherlands the box is already available through Universal (already for 2 weeks). I don't get their policy anymore so I won't wonder about it. Cheers, Reinier -
Mike Westbrook: Metropolis - now fully healed!
Bluerein replied to A Lark Ascending's topic in Re-issues
Is there a difference in pressing? I recently bought it so I assume this is the new remastering but how can I be shure? I haven't listened to it so that's why I'm asking. Cheers and thanks, Reinier -
Hello all, does anyone know which titles were reissued in Warner/Rhino's Archives series from may/june this year? I know one of them is Richard "Groove" Holmes' Book of the Blues Vol.1 but the others????/ Thanks and all the best, Reinier
