  1. Maybe something for you?? http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?View...5&since=-1&rd=1 Cheers, Reinier
  2. Hello all, does anyone (Brownie?) know anything about this band/recording from Malagasy? There's a reissue in Japan with the title above but AMG doesn't list it and the Lord discography has the personel and dates but I'm curious about the music played. I hope someone knows this and can tell me all about it. Cheers and thanks, Reinier
  3. The Bethlehem date appears to be issued on CD by Discovery and long OOP of course. It wasn't in the TOCJ reissues series by Toshiba. That makes me think Mosaic should have no problems with licencing this session if it is also under the TOSHIBA/EMI umbrella....... Cheers, Reinier
  4. Mine is the same as Couw's so not so collectible after all...... a pity!!! Cheers, Reinier
  5. Ben Webster: King of the Tenors (VERVE) Cheers, Reinier
  6. Who says there are going to be Rare Grooves at all this year???? Don't think so. But let's hope they can do a batch. Some Reuben Wilson would be great and some more Jack McDuff for sure. Cheers, Reinier
  7. Count Basie added.
  8. Here's the link: http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?View...5&since=-1&rd=1 Cheers, Reinier
  9. I had the old Atlantic Warner CD issue of this session and it was in mono. he newer Koch edition is stereo (at least partly) but not and improvement in sound quality. Is the new Atlantic Jazz Masters version Stereo or Mono? Do you know what others are in the new batch? Thanks, Reinier
  10. Some are still in the mini LP style but they are in the minority now (in Europe). In the US only the first (or first 2) batches were in mini LP the rest in Digipack. I know the Clark Terry is in mini LP. I can check in the store I work for which are if you really want to know. Cheers, Reinier
  11. Please see: http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?View...5&since=-1&rd=1 for more Imports on Ebay from me. Cheers, Reinier
  12. Indeed issued as a Japanese TOCJ cd in the beginning of the 90's and long OOP of course. I'm looking for it as well (for ages I might add, never seen on Ebay as well). Cheers, Reinier
  13. The Ebay Store of ZYX charges ridiculous shipping costs within the EU (euro 8 for 1 cd). So this is no option for people outside Germany I guess. Cheers, Reinier
  14. Here's my current listing of Japanese Import mini LP CD's on Ebay. http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?View...5&since=-1&rd=1 Cheers, Reinier
  15. If you're in a crowded store try Out to Lunch on a decent to loud level....and garanteed the store will empty AND you'll have a good recording to test the equipment with!!! Cheers, Reinier
  16. MC is indeed not an audiophile but he cares a lot about the sound of product which caries his name as reissue producer so if he didn't like the remastering by RMcM he surely would redo it. And the "sugestion" made by me came from MC himself so I guess they are true....... Cheers, Reinier
  17. There's only one track with the personel you describe on the Berlin Festival Guitar Workshop CD issued in Japan by Polydor (Universal) withg catalog number POCJ-2555 in 1998. The track is Careful. The rest of this cd is with guitar legends as Elmer Snowden, Buddy Guy, Barney Kessel & Baden Powel. Most are accompanied by Jack Lesberg on bass and Don Lamond on drums. A great MPS LP/CD but not if you're only looking for the Hall, Swallow, Moses trio. Cheers, Reinier
  18. Blue Moon: 3 Japanese issues (latest 24 Bit's): 6 Mosaic: 9 (no 10 because the recordings vary and are not up to RvG standards). Cheers, R
  19. What Hans said combined with the fact these Mosaic sets are the first(!!) CD issues which use the original master tapes. MC flew to a doggy storeage house near Chicago to get them and bring back to Malcolm who did his usual mastering wonders from the 2 track and 3 track tapes. Yes even the Japanese 24 Bit issues are NOT from the real tapes but DAT copies made long ago! Although these Japanese CD sound much finer than the Blue Moon issues the Mosaic smokes them all. The alternates are a PITA but you can always program your player to avoid duplication. Cheers, Reinier
  20. great to know you all don't believe me on my word!!! I knew this was a great place to write...... Cheers, Reinier
  21. OK...... I was at Mosaic's last week and the info is straight from the man himself (MC). Is that proof enough?????? Cheers, Reinier
  22. This is NOT critisism to Mr. McMaster but...... Ron is a Capitol staff engineer and based in California (where the master tapes are stored too) so if a Capitol/EMI label reissue has to be mastered it's done there and usually by Mr. McMaster because of his expertise. If there has to be some remixing done MC uses Addey (NYC based) so he can sit in easier and do it together. Cheers, Reinier
  23. It's also true the Shorty Rogers Atlantic etc. was a low sale set. Strange since it's great music and not otherwise available (then). The Mulligan CBB on the other hand is the best seller of all time. The European Verve distributed sets (2500) are already sold out (they were after 2 months, go figure) and the direct sales from Stanford are already in the 2000's. Another thing it the VeeJay sets are not running low or something but the licencing expires this year so they are going to be OOP at the end of the year no matter how many set's are left in Stamford. These 2 sets are the best sounding VeeJay material I've ever heard (the music isn't bad either!!!!!). Grab them while you can I would say. Cheers, Reinier
  24. Can't find the Cannonballl plays ZawinAl (nice typo) either. The Peggy Lee and Nancy Wilson LP's are available as EMI/UK twofers for a low price so strange choices for a seperate issue imo. Cheers, Reinier And indeed we need the Cannonball in Europe (the vol.7 Ubu wrote about) anytime soon!!!!!
  25. Hello all, I've seen to have missed some of the BN/Fwolff calendar of the last couple of years. Is there someone who can help me find them (or want's to sell them to me). Used is no problem as long as they are in mint condition. I have a spare copy (new and sealed ) of the 1998 BN years calendar (with Coltrane and Fuller on the cover). I'm looking for: 2000 (both the BN and FW if excisting) I have the Miled Davis Covered 2001 but maybe there's another one from 2001. I need all available 2002, 2003 & 2004 calendar's. Hope you can help me. Cheers, Reinier
