I happened to be by the stroke of good luck, on vacation this week. So I will avoid having to deal with the consequences of this huge storm at least when it comes to delivering the mail. The wife and I went out last night to the local grocery store and avoided all the mayhem going on right now. Forecasts are calling for up to 2 feet along the coastline here in Maine. Maybe more? Winds later tonight could exceed 50 mph with whiteout conditions. Power outages are expected. We're hoping for the best but prepared for the worst. The wife is scheduled to work tomorrow/Tuesday, but I'm not encouraging her to travel if the forecasts hold true. How are you guys in the effected areas handling this situation? Please stay safe.

Michael, no promises but it looks like I may be able to attend. I'll have a better idea by the last week of January. What time is the show? -
Funny, I remember my dad hating that show for the reasons you described.

What's the most you'd pay for a CD/Album?
Tom 1960 replied to Hardbopjazz's topic in Miscellaneous Music
I think I may have spent up to $30 once for a single disc. Justifying that I had come across so many great deals on the net for very little cost. I have a pretty extensive wish list of recordings on Amazon. A decent amount of those what I would consider outside my price range. If one is patient, price reductions can happen. No need to break the bank. -
Happy New Year everyone!

Like the Hazeltine date as well.

I would be interested in your favorite recordings since we share similar tastes. I know of a few posters here that would agree with my thoughts.

Jackie McLean's 1970's Steeplechase Recordings
Tom 1960 replied to felser's topic in Recommendations
I'd be interested in others thoughts as a friend recommended looking these up as well. -
Scott, I wish it was something as simple as refreshing the page. The board layout itself appears normal with all the sections and thread listings. The problem is when I access a thread to read the posts, it resembles something I listed in my initial post. I'm not sure how to correct this? I recently had an issue with a phony java update notice. It actually was a malware program. It appears I got rid of the program and subsequently have installed a new cyber security system Kaspersky, to rid any future irratants. I just would like to fix this problem. Strangely I do post on other forums and don't have this problem. Is there something as simple as clicking on some forum link to correct the layout? This might be something Jim Alfredson might have an answer to although all suggestions are most welcome. Otherwise in the short term, I'll just read the forums posts off the desktop.

When I wish to read the responses to threads here on the forum, the layout now appears like this? How can I fix this and return this to the standard layout? Michael Weiss Trio with Tootie @Smalls this weekend
Tom 1960 replied to Michael Weiss's topic in Live Shows & Festivals
Bump! Hope to catch the show either tonight or Saturday night via the Smalls Live Stream. http://www.smallsjazzclub.com/ -
I've been listening to the past few days many of Jackie's fine recordings for the label during the 1960's time period and must say what a sheer delight it has been to hear them after a long absence. If you too haven't listened to some of these sessions recently, why not dig back into the collection and pull a few out? See if you agree with my thoughts? Maybe post a few thoughts? That's my recommendation!
