  1. Happy Birthday, Bruce!
  2. Happy Birthday, Paps! Enjoy that trip.
  3. I've read good things about Grant Green's Live At The Lighthouse here on the forum. I ordered a used copy last week. Much more funky than what you may be accustomed from hearing from Grant, if that makes a difference.
  4. Got into the low 90's here today. Glad that new air conditioner arrived when it did.
  5. It appears although I could be wrong, that Grant Green's "Live At The Lighthouse" has been deleted. After recently hearing this on lala.com, I was curious about it's availability. On Amazon's website, it appears only through Amazon Marketplace available new from 4 overseas sellers. 1 from Switzerland, 3 from the UK. I purchased a used copy for just under $6 plus shipping from a seller in California. If you've been interested in this release, you might wish to move quickly.
  6. Some nice purchases, especially the Blue Mitchell disc.
  7. The listing on Amazon must be messed up. The listing indicates it's a single disc with only 4 songs listed. Can't say I know what this would be, so I assume I'm getting what I think I am. We'll see! My order shipped this morning. $10.39, includes tax.
  8. Harold In The Land Of Jazz is a great one! Somebody should pick this one up.
  9. Just my friggin luck. The 2'nd night in a row I had trouble sleeping and I didn't go online missing out on Paps great deals. Can't win them all
  10. Donald Byrd's Fuego is a pretty good one. Just ordered that along with Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Live at The Village Vanguard and Introducing Kenny Burrell. More to follow.
  11. "Montmartre" from the Dexter Gordon album "Tower of Power" with fine assistance from James Moody and Barry Harris.
  12. With the demise of lala, I'm now onto Grooveshark as recommended by GA Russell:
  13. but for me Strozier supplies the heat that is much more compatible with Candoli's playing. "The Breeze And I" is an excellent example. I'm also a big fan of Russ Freeman which is always a big plus with me if he's included on the date.
  14. Pete, I figured with things winding down, I'd take full advantage and listen to a number of recordings that are on my extensive wish list. My only regret is that I didn't take advantage of this service more often in the past. As they say, all good things must come to an end.
  15. Any thoughts on his latest release?
  16. lala: Lester Young/Teddy Wilson - Pres and Teddy
  17. Congratulations on the fantastic news.
  18. Happy Birthday, Sundog!
  19. 101 friggin degrees.
  20. Lala: Dave Pell Octet - Jazz & Romantic Places
