Discs 2 and 3 The Jimmy Rowles Trio dates are probably my least favorite sessions of this collection mainly because of the less than ideal sound quality which I was aware of beforehand. The material is ok, but who is to say that I wont come around to it at some future date? The Claire Fischer dates on the otherhand are outstanding. Fischer closes out disc 2 with 4 tracks and the entire 3'rd disc. All in all, a very fine collection. Glad to have been fortunate to get this collection at a reasonable price. Thanks to all for plugging this one.

Starbucks is where I picked up the excellent new release by Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings for 13 bucks. Who would have figured?

Disc 1 Featuring Russ Freeman who I never tire of and Richard Twardzik who is new at least to my ears.

The set arrived in the mail today. I hope to get the opportunity to hear some of this before the day is out.

Anyone got the new one? I usually could care less about todays music for the most part, but this has floored me. I think it's great!

Never understood the lack of enthusiasm for this set. Without a doubt one of my favorite Mosaic sets.

I guess 150 bucks might be a bargain compared to the upcoming Roger Waters "The Wall" tour. Tickets for the show in Toronto for example range from $175 - $712!!!

Got the bike ride in today, under less than ideal conditions. Barely 50 degrees and pretty much overcast skies. Feels cold after the recent warm spell we had.

50 degrees and dreary. At least it's not raining right now. Hoping for sunny skies tomorrow for my bike ride.

Lala: Zoot Sims - Hawthorne Nights

I was talking to a co-worker this morning about Neil's upcoming Palace Theatre date in Albany, NY.. According to him tickets are running in the neighborhood of $150. I think not.

Well this will make you sick. I happened to come across the Jazz Trios collection over the weekend on eBay and noticed little interest in it. I figured I would keep an eye on it and signed up to receive updated bids. Well, I got busy yesterday and missed the email and by the time I came across it, it sold for $88! I would have easily paid $100 to get this set. Sucks, but that's the breaks.

Johnny, I hope to make the show in Tivoli, NY on May 8. I live just 20 - 25 minutes away. No promises, but I will do my best.
