    The new season of the French cop drama Spiral has just started on BBC4.. Terrific opening episodes.

    Interesting post which takes me back a lot of years. I remember reading some of his stuff in Downbeat and maybe Jazz Review back in the 60s. Some of it was pretty funny. I thought Crater was pseudonym but never thought much about it. Now I know.

    Yesterday, three very decent Christmas cds Yule Struttin'; A Blue Note Christmas Justin Time For Christmas nos 1 and 3. Mostly good to very good things on these compilations.

    Very sad news, another major figure gone. Caught him with Archie Shepp a handful of times. A knockout band. Enjoyed a lot of his work especially that with Steve Lacy.

    This was my introduction to David Murray 40 tears or so ago.. I thought it remarkable then and still do. Not just for Murray but also for the great playing from Olu Dara, Fred Hopkins and Phillip Wilson.
