    Sonny Rollins titled one of his albums "Plays For Bird" Sonny Stitt did "I Remember Bird" on an album of the same name.

    My only problem is the sound on some bootleg albums. The sound on some those Italian vinyl boots was so poor there was no pleasure in listening to them. I suspect that a lot of the 'historic' cds coming out now are no better.

    Nice one dan. Bill used to play here in the UK regularly a few years, I used to watch and listen in awe.

    How well I remember that one! It made a big hit when it first came out about 1962. The first Roland Kirk I heard! On Esquire, Bill? (my pressing is on that imprint). IIRC the one that circulated among my friends at the time was on (expensive in Britain) Prestige. I still have my Esquire issue. Probably my favourite Kirk.

    That's a nice on KH. One that's easy to overlook. Not on cd to my knowledge.

    Tortelier did these on UK tv many years ago as part of a masterclass. Very striking.
