  1. Thanks, I did, but I guess what I want to really know is if the music itself has the same vibe as the one on Total Eclipse/Patterns/Spiral/ Medina but I guess it doesn't. Do appreciate the Land/Hutch/Chambers collaboration and I'll probably end up picking it up anyway.
  2. Ok, so what's the consensus on 'Head On'? I don't really know Hutch's music beyond 'Total Eclipse'. And I've heard that his BN's from the early to mid seventies are not his best, is this anything like Spiral/Medina/Total Eclipse?
  3. Maybe I'll break out my trumpet too...it was given to me a year ago, and needs some work but I would like to try to learn how to play it.
  4. There's a store in Pittsburgh that has, I think, two copies of the Bert Savoy. They're used at $8 a piece. PM me if you're interested.
  5. This is what I meant
  6. Thanks! Talk about a truly remarkable experience!
  7. I don't own any Pepper led dates, but I do have him on Dizzy's Live at the Village Vanguard with Corea, Jones, etc. and Adams is just incredible on that one. I also have him on a Savoy date called Jazzmen Detroit, and that one is also a really nice one. No other horns, but with Burrell and Flanagan behind him. A second word for the Byrd-Adams dates, that was a great front line.
  8. Great news! And glad to hear that the O is staying
  9. Have the Gillespie/Fuller disc on Pacific Jazz and that one is excellent!
  10. Unwrap and play cds that I have had sitting around for the last year.
  11. Still pretty cold here.
  12. Wife and I are enjoying a couple of Long Island Ice teas :rsmile:
  13. No kidding. Great sound and great packaging. It seems that the Fantasy, Riverside and Contemporary K2 titles are becoming increasingly harder to find. Sure glad I snapped up the Peppers when they first came out.
  14. As long as its innocent and nothing serious, then a little flirting here and there is ok.
  15. I like the entire boxset 'For All Time.'
  16. Someone bought me one of these when I graduated from college. I think I broke it in less than 5 minutes
  17. I see the K2's show up periodically in the second-hand bins. My advice is to frequent used cd shops; I just recently saw Bag's Groove K2 going for $6 awhile back.
  18. Snowing here in Northeast Ohio.
  19. Then Brotz for Lovers ...not!
