  1. My education, and although I have a problem putting a price on learning, I am in the six figures in loans, and I'm really worried when my wife comprehends that debt.
  2. Great Lakes Christmas Ale. Christmas in July! Funny enough, Great Lakes only brews Christmas Ale for the holidays and we usually buy a couple of cases right off the bat but now, they are brewing a special batch for July only because it is 'Christmas in July!' What a great tag line.
  3. Wow. I'd have given you a lot more than that for an early edition, too! Those were the 'promotional' LP's right? There were 100 copies I think which Ayler signed, and the last time I saw one of those, it sold for $1500 on Ebay!
  4. Forgot to mention that I do like the coverage of the Australian, French and Winbledon grand slam events, along with the US Open Series too. I usually skip Sports Center and just watch the crawl for scores.
  5. Family and friends over....so leftover Great Lakes Christmas Ale and Jager Bombs...good times!
  6. I also have the Chambers TOCJ and agreed that the sound is terrific on that one, so I probably will not upgrade it. If anyone missed out on the early conn's and cc's though, there are a lot of those in this and the upcoming batch. I'm planning on grabbing the Davis since I passed on this one when it was reissued 12 years ago.
  7. This is simply disgusting and disrespectful of the dead.
  8. Agreed. My favorite Quebec session!
  9. Ok, I'm not a connie, but I have friends over whom enjoy Fosters. edit: spelling errors
  10. Right now: Organissimo, what else? In August: Aristotle's Metaphysics
  11. Not jazz, but took the wife to see The Police at Gund Arena last Monday, and just saw Collective Soul/Live and The Counting Crows at Captains Stadium. Never saw Live before but they were clearly the best for me on that bill.
  12. They should get slapped with a OSI: Operating a Shuttle while Intoxicated
  13. No throwing up! In an effort to minimize later cleanup, Aggie87 recommends no mo grub fo MoGrubb. A hysterical Holy Ghost can't stop his cracking up at this thread :rsmile:
  14. Hope the project with Anthony Braxton comes through.
  15. I don't know if this has been posted but here's a clip from Jack Gelber's The Connection with Freddie Redd and Jackie McLean from I think 1960: http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=acMICBiu-fE
  16. That's badazz. Thanks
  17. An inquisitive Holy Ghost really wonders if UFO's can be shampood and conditioned so they'll be shinier.
  18. DOUBLE WOW! Joe McPhee! Ray Draper! Rashied Ali! Man, I would love to see those performances!
  19. Yeah, I dig that cover too; pretty hip for 1971.
  20. A befuddled Holy Ghost suggests that maybe they should shampoo and condition the crop circles and then maybe they'll go away.
  21. i remember horny. he had awesome curly locks and the face of a choirboy and built in radar. probably a chromedome now. wish they had 3 pointers in those days. aloc would keep his balls inside and rotate them for his november hooping. A now middle-aged HolyGhost has lived in Ohio for over 10 years now, and he has never heard of this strange game, nor of its strange-ass details. Man with the Middle-Aged Arm lived there for his first 28 and is envious that aloc can rotate his balls in november or any other month for that matter. A humored Holy Ghost is impressed with the rotating ball technique. He wonders if this is before or after they are muddied?
  22. I brought this up in a different thread....not that I'm losing sleep over it but it's kinda strange....very chewy like. m~ this essay expresses aloc's feelings concerning his third person affliction: thinking aloc should use: "the aloc" which is finer yet. http://www.pauldavidson.net/2006/02/19/the...e-third-person/ People like Paul Davidson, who speak in the third person, initially come across as people who are obsessed with the idea of themselves. Some educators and psychologists will tell you that people who speak in the third person, like Paul Davidson, actually aren’t as obsessed as you’d think they are — they in fact have some kind of split personality that causes them to look at themselves like a completely different person.
  23. I first heard Phineas on 'Jazz Interpetations of Harold Arlen's Music of Jamica' in the RCA 'Living Stereo' series from Spain-it was in a cut-out bin for $5, so I went for it, and I have enjoyed it quite a bit. Just recently, I picked up the RVG of Haynes' 'We Three' and I agree that this is a nice disk. I don't have much else to go on, but I think it showcases his talent pretty nicely here.

  25. This thread makes Holy Ghost laugh his ass off
